Children with very wide feet - where to get shoes?

Dd3 has much wider feet than her sisters. I took her into town and tried some sandles on her which were an H fitting and I couldn't cram her foot in! I've ended up having to buy her hideously expensive (and questionable) Lelli Kelly shoes as they're the only thing that fits.

Anyone have any other ideas?

i have this problem with all 5 of mine! i go to an independent shoe shop and get makes like geox, ricosta, pepino etc as they all come up wide, buckle my shoe is another good one as well :) not cheap tho!

You have my sympathy dd2 now aged 15 has size 8.5 and wider than an H and it has always been a nightmare, she has flippers for feet!!
But we could still manage to find a pair to fit in clarks but I used to order online into store before I went in several pairs in an H fitting.
Unfortunately for her she has had to have the same style for the last 3 years for school and refuses to have any with straps even though they would be better. She is very hard on her shoes and now she is in adult shoes its just a case of searching for wide fittings but I still manage to find a pair in clarks but I do always order in first so I know that they will have some to try on.

Angulus has always been great for my dd1 who has H fitting. Expensive though.

Thanks for replies - I am hoping that when she goes to school I will be able to find shoes to fit her!
