Dress to wear to a Wedding in August

I am going to a wedding in August and I need something to wear. I am style challenged so need HELP!!

I have a DS who will be 18mths by then and need a dress that won't crease or ride up if I'm picking him up off the floor etc!

I was thinking about a maxi dress like THIS but I'm not sure if this would be too casual and then sparkly flip flops and a shrug if needed.

I normally would wear sky scraper heels with a knee length dress but with DS I think flats would be more practical Sad

Help please from the Style Queens of Mumsnet!

I reckon you could still do heels and knee length. I wore a slightly above knee (maternity) wrap dress with killer heels last June. Ds was 20 months. THe dress was plain, but I borrowed a wicked hat and accessorised.

Ds wore a suit and, more importantly, reins so dh or I could keep hold of him.

PErhaps the trick is not to wear a tight knee length dress!
