Whats your style (if your 35)?

I will hold my hands up and say I have no interest in fashion, but I do want to find some style, can anybody give me some ideas?

Before I had my children 6 years ago I was into surfing/snowboarding/ adventure type stuff. In many respects I still am but day to day I am a SAHM to DS 4&5 and could do with some clothes that no only reflect the person I am but also my age Does this make any sense?

I shall hasten to add that I do not own a fleece, or Uggs Quite fancy the Kensingtons though. I have a Merrell Wakefield and Prevoz boots - thats ok isn't it? I try to avoid White Stuff and Fat Face and have recently fallen in love with Brora, although I'm still trying to work out if it's 'me' or not

So over to you MN, where to shop? What to wear?

Well, I am 35 too.

I tend to wear skinny jeans, cropped skinny trousers, J brand Houlihans, denim mini's, jersey dresses, blazers, good quality scoop neck t-shirts and blouses for when I am with DS.

I shop in a variety of places, and I do like high end denim. But high street wise I usually turn to:

Im not 35 anymore,boo hiss I just turned 36,My style range is mainly romantic,soft materails,floral dresses,skirts,jackets,cardigans with shoes or boots,when I feel like dressing up think holly willabooby.When Im not bothered I just want to do what I have to do I have a natrual style of jeans and a blouse with boots.I wear soft muted colours because of my colouring and never wear black.

Also Im not loyal to brands at all Il shop anywere and everywere,loyaltiy to a brand makes me think your only limiting yourself.

Thanks for the tips, throughout the winter I have slowly converted to dresses and tights as I find jeans don't fit so well anymore. I'm not sure what to wear in the summer. I have a peculiar body shape. Size 10 but I look a 12 (F cup norks), long bodied and short legs which are like egg times, chunky thighs and calves, knobbly knees and ankles.

I agree about not being loyal to brands, I prefer to have a few items of decent quality that will last a long time and put up with the wear and tear of an active (ish) lifestyle. Unfortunately I find outdoor clothing better for this

Colour wise, definitely autumn and no black unless I have a really good tan. I have banned myself from khaki as my whole wardrobe was beginning to turn green Dh is in the forces too, we have looked a right pair of (green) tits before now

I dress like babyg!! Lots of jersey dresses with tights, biker boots and denim jackets. Skinny dark jeans with tunic tops and boots. Chunky silver jewellery. No black at all, lots of muted colours, grey, navy, floral dresses and plenty of denim.

Clinging onto last few months of being 35....I wear skinny jeans and good/flattering sweaters all winter with Uggs or ankle boots. Always wear a good coat or decent jacket.

Spring, skinny jeans (lighter colours) long sleeve tees, blouses, or thicker tees with leather jacket or blazer plus ankle boots or loafers.

Summer, I wear dresses, shorts/fashionable tees with haviainas (sp) or gladiators.

I ALWAYS wear statement earrings and bangles. This year, I 'ave mostly been purchasing scarves (desperately hoping you all watched the Fast Show?).

Good luck with your quest, might be worth going to a dept store and use a personal shopper?

Xed posts with u, sorry! Have you tried chinos? I'm sure you have a great body, but these are more flattering than skinnies. Tho I do think if you get the right cut, they suit most people. I am a great believer that a person looks their best when comfortable in what their wearing, as long as a:) it fits properly and b) is clean and not kncackered.

Def get a personal shopper (I think most places are free) get them to help you combine outdoor clothes with a new style direction.

I am 34. I wear mostly black, brown and purple.
No jeans, boots, dresses or skirts. No frigging Uggs or leggings.
Just trousers, top and cardigan or jumper.
Shoes are comfy flats. Birks in the summer.

I'm slap bang in the middle of 35. Petite 5ft nothing size 8. Pear shape.
Winter: high waist denim skinnies, high waist denim flares, denim skirt, breton tops, fitted cashmere sweaters, heeled ankle boots or low heel cowboy boots, belts and scarves to add interest, good knee length wool coat or duvet style coat, orla kiely sling bag
summer: coloured skinnies, chinos, casual denim jeans, plain vests, stripe ts, cotton or merino cardigans, blazer, knee dresses in retro prints, low wedge leather sandals, high wedge sandals, canvas shopper bag with leather handles
Work: fitted shirts, tanks, man style trousers, pencil skirt and patterned tights, ankle boots, heeled courts
going out: dresses, opaques, heels, blazer, fitted trousers and lace top.

I'm 35, size 12, big boobs too (not a huge fan of Pepperberry though- bravissimo great for bras/swimsuits I find) and a distressing tendency when I put on weight to be an apple shape. My style out of work varies (depending on what I'm doing that day) between v casual (gym gear/jeans, sleeveless tops and hoodies) or long skirts and vest tops or dresses with tights/leggigns (hush tunic top and leggings, sweater dresses, tea dresses) and flats. I work in a formal office environment so dresses or trouser suits for work. I have a number of long sleeve jersey tops for work - asos sometimes do good fashionable ones and I have some plain ones from M&S and Warehouse and Coast. I've had most of my clothes for a while (in fact I've had some of my clothes for 12 years as they are classics/a style that works well on me and still fit) so as a result I have a fairly varied wardrobe but it still breaks down into the above categories - I go through and chuck out stuff that doesnt work anymore once a year which frees up space for purchases during that year. I have belts but not really any scarves as dont tend to accessorise my clothes that much. As I'm indian I find certain colours (cream, pale silver, gold, dark green, dark blue, plum) work on me best so my wardrobe tends towards those colours.

As I work during the week and am often busy with the kids at the weekends, I tend to shop online. I shop at Oasis (some lovely dresses in at the moment), Warehouse (though not inspired by it at the moment), Asos, My wardrobe and Matches for special occasions dresses (I've found Diane Von Furstenburg dresses really suit the curvy large of nork figure - as well as VWA of course). I have about 14 pairs of glam heels (again gathered over a period of years) but am restricted to flats for the rest of this year due to knee injury and op - have some grey ankle boots, grey short uggs and chestnut brown long uggs, 3 pairs of trainers (use the gym alot), 2 pairs of flip flops and 4 pairs of ballerina type shoes in different colours.
