Are sports bras supposed to be this tight?

(Neither stylish nor beautiful I know, but this pertains to clothing so I thought I'd put it here).

I just bought a sports bra and, foolishly, didn't try it on until I got home. Just tried it and by god it is tight. As in, I can barely get it on. Once on however, I suppose it is rather supportive.

I am small and correspondingly small-titted by the way, so don't' need major support in any case.

Any wisdom out there on sports bras?

Mine is pretty tight to get on but comfortable whilst exercising.

Thanks. I guess I should give it a go. Will have to put it on before I get to the gym though as I will lose all dignity if i have to wrestle the thing on in the changing room!

It should loosen off a bit with wear. As long as you can still breathe!

NVB - is it a bra with hooks or one of those compression tops?

CharminglyOdd · 12/03/2012 17:36

DP needs to do the middle part of mine up or I do myself an injury before I've even started and it leaves massive marks. OTOH I've never been so well supported and it's not noticeable once on. I think they are meant to be like that as I had mine fitted.

One of my sports bras is TIGHT when I first put it on. But when I exercise it actually feels pretty good!

Thanks for comments everyone - guess it sounds quite normal then.

ForwardOcho - It doesn't have hooks so must be a compression one. It certainly does a good job of compressing things!

I have compression one too and I only wear it when every other option is in the laundry. It will be very good support though. Extra horrid to peel off when you and it are wet. Mmmmm.

I like the attractive "Unibreast" my sports bra gives me, one ginormous boob in the middle of my chest, refusing to budge an inch!
