What can I do to look my best? I have a family event in a couple of weeks where someone who has been particularly unkind to me will be there.

I have just had a cut and colour. What else can I do at home over the next week or so to ensure that I feel beautiful and strong?

Have you sorted your outfit out?

Nails? Start looking after them now.

Fake tan? A little bit of Johnsons every other day.

You have time to do facials/apply masks etc for fab skin.

Moisturising hair mask night before for super shiny hair.

Have a practice night...ie put outfit and make up on so you don't panic on the day and know exactly what you're doing.

Sock it to em !

I suggest choose an outfit you feel good in- doesn't need to be a new one- actually great if you have a favourite item
Of clothing that you wore to a happy occasion and have happy associations with.

Also I wouldn't go overboard on the make up tan etc - you don't want to look
Like you re hiding behind it all or overcompensating. So wear what you would wear normally in terms of hair and make up (to suit the occasion)
Ensure nails and hair are done. Walk tall.
What s te occasion? I think that will probably govern outfit and effort.
Most of all wear a smile, be happy and confident - one tip is to pause before you enter a room take a deep breath exhale and smile, then you enter the room looking relaxed happy and open. Engage in chat with people you like - if you re nervous of conversation s maybe think of a few topics etc you can have as conversation openers or fillers with people.
Hmmmm sorry sounding all life-y coachy not sure that s what you were asking for......

Thank you drywhite and seventh

It is a community event, it is daytime and informal, indoors and outdoors, I have my outfit sorted!

Interestingly, I got more than I bargained for with your advice, I was expecting beauty tips or product recommendations but what I also found valuable was the less superficial side of your advice and for that I am very grateful, thank you both.

Hi anon, glad to be of help, guess it s not all about the external appearance (though if that helps one feel good then great)
Hope you really enjoy the eventSmile
