Need inspiration-what do I wear with a maxi skirt?

I'm looking for some advice on how to style a black jersey maxi skirt (I can't link to it on iPhone).
I quite like the idea of some kind of belt but am stuck for what shoes and top to put with it. Don't mind layers on top for heat!

Any ideas please?!?

I am wearing one today, and am wearing it with a Splendid racer back vest and this big belt. Have a cashmere boyfriend cardigan on over the top for keeping warm. I have Toms on my feet.

I would also wear it with plain t-shirts and leather/denim jacket, and easy with flip flops or gladiators when it gets a bit warmer.

I think you can wear a maxi with high-heeled wedges to good effect.

I've been wearing mine with a really plain top, biker jacket, scarf and sort of cowboyish-heeled ankle boots.

I will also wear it with a camisole, an open fitted denim shirt or denim jacket and ankle boots (or glads / flip flops when warmer).
