That perennial problem - the 80s fancy dress party

I have four outfits sitting in my wardrobe:
A) a black jumpsuit with shoulder pads which I bought for a 40s party many years ago, but with the addition of a wide belt could perhaps be equally 80s.
B) the makings of a Robert Palmer girl outfit. This would have the advantage of enabling me to slick my short hair back, but otherwise would be a bit of a challenging look
C) Chanel-esque tweed cheap Top Shop suit with velvet collar to be worn with blouse, pussy bow and stilettos. Disadvantage is that I haven't actually worn the skirt since the 1980s, and it's certain possible it may not fit without Spanks and lipo.
D) Baggy purple silk trouser suit. Tres Miami Vice, authentically late 80s, horrendously unflattering but comfy and easy to wear, but not sure how to accessorise.

Or something else? I have an extensive collection of 80s jewellery, white trainers, and access to a New Look and extensive collection of charity shops.. Hair presents a problem as most of the iconic 80s styles require more than I possess.

Jumpsuit, because it sounds most comfortable.

TBH my goto 80s outfit is a white shirt, cropped trousers, some eyeliner crosses on my cheeks a la Steve Strange, and lots of silk scarves.

Oh dear, have taken deep breath and tried on tweed skirt. Experiment confirms that a Top Shop 1980's size 12 skirt will not fit a 21st century Jigsaw size 12 arse.....not even close.

Yes, joan, bright and obvious make-up is key - lots of blusher in a line on your cheekbone and bright lipstick/eyeshadow and big hair with a tied scarf a la Bananarama!

And sadly, yes, a 1980's size 12 is more like a mofdern 8-10.
