Less than 24 hours to learn how to walk in heels..

A last minute babysitting offer means am off to a party tomorrow night after all. Have this frock some kindly S&B-ers pointed me towards at Christmas time and I'd love to team it with a pair of chunky black court shoes I got in the sales. But..I can't walk in heels! I can just about manage a medium high wedge & bought the court shoes as I hoped the chunky heel would be similar but they are more precarious than I expected... I can cope relatively okay on carpets but on wooden floors I look like a muppet puppet as I slap my whole foot down flat. I never wear heels and think the dress looks so much more glam with the courts than with my usual ballet flats or boots. Any potential 'enry 'iggins out there game for turning me into a Laydee?

Maybe have a look at something like this link or some videos on you tube might help. Make sure the soles are worn in so you don't slip & try wearing them round the house a bit tomorrow to get used to them. If all else fails, you could take some wedges/flats for if you get desperate or too drunkto change into. Have fun Smile

Stand as straight as you can, and walk from your hip (ie move your hip forward, not just your leg, at each step). And endeavour to put the foot down slightly heel first.

Oh thanks. Am wearing them around the house tonight but just can't seem to not look like a cowboy who has lost his horse get the hang of it at all. I may just have to sit down all evening. Though that could be a recipe for intoxication disaster.
