Help me choose which peony and moore bag I would like.

Dh has said he will buy me a bag for birthday. I have decided on a peony and Moore but can't decide between camel lucia, navy lucia because it is in the sale or I also like the look of the vanilla mariella as it is so summery.

I like to be able to put my bag down on the floor and it doesn't collapse. I also usually wear my bag over my shoulder and am worried the lucia with the two straps may fall off my shoulder. I have navy blazer, trench and navy jacket for spring. I am a fairly smart and classic dresser although SAHM most of the time (work part time but bag not relelvent when I go to work). My children are 10,7 and 4 so don't need baby stuff anymore but enough room for the odd bits and bobs.

Decisions, decisions!!!! Please help.

Marking my place as I'm after a nice bag too and we seem to have the same requirements Smile

I like the tan or camel Lucia but also wonder if it would collapse when put on the floor.

shopalot · 08/03/2012 13:23

Hi, thanks for replying. I e-mailed p&m and they said they had different leather this year for the tan. Ie it is the same soft leather as the camel so tan is also a consideration for me too.

I think I have decided on the mariella but need to know whether it collapses when put on the floor. Tia

I love both bags...have actually been drooling over them both for the last few days. Tan would go with your colours for spring, and can actually be used any season. I wish the lucia had an across-body strap....anyone know if one can be attached to it? or would that just look daft? I also wish the mariella came in tan....

shopalot · 08/03/2012 14:59

That is exactly what I think!!! Tan would be fab in the mariella. Yes across the body strap would be handy, hence the draw to the mariella. I am now considering the berry Gilly but think it is a bit too structured for me. But now not really sure.

Think I may go for navy lucia and see what it is like. Esp as in sale. May have to get a lighter bag nearer the summer......

I have the Lucia - it has a solid bottom and studs on it.
Also you could attach a long strap to either side of it as there are 4 rings for the existing handles -- Peony and Moore sell separate straps in brown or black I see - just a thought if you wanted the Lucia with a long strap. Smile

shopalot · 08/03/2012 15:41

Thanks. Do you love your Lucia? Not too big?

OP posts:
madammecholet · 08/03/2012 15:43

I've got the Light coloured Lucia and the pink Mariella. Love them both for different reasons, Lucia not slouchy, more structured, doesn't collapse at all and I use it for work. The mariella is fab with the second strap, it does slouch more and has no studs on bottom, as there is no where to put them ifykwim.

Gilly look delicious, but I also love the new snake print Mariella...

Also if I bought the Lucia again, i'd get the tan. Altho mine goes with everything, I don't use it in the winter and the tan I would...

What colour shoes/boots do you have? Like the idea of buying another strap to put on Lucia too bunions...

madammecholet · 08/03/2012 15:45

Lucia is def not too big... Mariella is arguably slightly bigger.

shopalot · 08/03/2012 15:47

I have some tan shoes- new purchase from Hobbs so tan would work. Tempted by the navy as reduced. Thanks for feedback. I think mariella wouldn't work go me without studs then. So Lucia or gilly. I do like the soft look of the Lucia leather.Smile

I've got these two.. Lucia it's the lighter tan one and this mariella

shopalot · 08/03/2012 15:49

Navy or tan, navy or tan Grin

madammecholet · 08/03/2012 15:50

tan tan tan! I saw a mothers day code flying about somewhere, have you got it??

shopalot · 08/03/2012 15:57

Yes yes yes. Last question, is the Lucia comfy on your shoulder?

OP posts:
madammecholet · 08/03/2012 15:59

yup. only bag i've ever owned that doesn't slip off shoulders tbh.. :)

shopalot · 08/03/2012 16:01

Great. That is what I am worried about. Thank you for your wise words.

A bit late on this. I too have a Lucia in chocolate and reccomend it - good quality, stands up well, and fits fine on my shoulder.

But would definitely have preferred a tan if it had been available when I bought - it's such a great all-year-round colour. I personally have a bit of a 'block' on navy bags though I love the colour in clothes and shoes - they seem a bit 'staid' and safe somehow.

Only other thing is, as a regular tube traveller, I'm addicted to cross body bags, so thinking of sending to P and M for the additional strap bunions mentions.

Meanwhile, like Mmme., have fallen for the snake Mariella so am trying hard to persuade myself it would be a really useful/ worthwhile spring/summer buy!

HavingAnOffDAy · 08/03/2012 17:49

The tan is lovely, and looks more 'cross season' IYKWIM. I think that's the one I'm going for. The camel may be a little light for me.

Does anyone have the Mothers Day code & would you be willing to pass it on please?

TIA

Ahhhh - I love bags Grin

shopalot · 08/03/2012 19:44

Now I had decided on the navy......oh dear. You have put me off now. The mothersday code is LOVEMUM - gives you £20 off . 10%off is reg01 but you can't use both. I have even phoned them to check......

OP posts:
bunionscomingsoon · 08/03/2012 20:13

Don't think anyone lets you use two discount codes - difficult to put two in anyway! Grin

madammecholet · 09/03/2012 09:10

That snake mariella is GORGEOUS...trying to only peek thru fingers at it.... I've got the pink one, so feel 2 bags of same shape is wrong.... or is it wrong to think that!! :)

shopalot · 09/03/2012 11:20

When you put the mariella down on the floor does it collapse. You are talking me into the mariella now!!!!

OP posts:
HannahBagServant · 09/03/2012 14:11

I love the Mariella in Fuxia Pink - although have to say it does look a little bit too slouchy for me. I love that shade though, makes me feel really girly, and I think it works in both summer and winter. Brown bags are a little dull for me. This Ralph Lauren bag is amazing if you like that sort of colour (although a teeny tiny bit pricey!)
