Don't you want sleeves for a funeral? It is nice though. Boden usually have black versions of their dresses and could work well.

SadSoul · 05/03/2012 21:32

oh i never thought of sleeves.

i will look at boden website.

thanks

That's a nice dress, SadSoul, I've gone for this mobile.warehouse.co.uk/pws/ProductDetails.ice?ProductID=307766
to wear at the funeral I'm attending.

Msarsebiscuit · 05/03/2012 21:34

Oh and a black jacket, which I needed anyway

nellyjelly · 05/03/2012 21:34

Really? You are going to a funeral. You just need to dress conservatively. It's not a fashion event. Sorry but am a bit taken aback by your question.

SadSoul · 05/03/2012 21:35

oh thats nice, i might go and look at that, in the shops

Shirt dress at M&S, good with opaques and ankle boots.

SadSoul · 05/03/2012 21:37

its my childs funeral, so i certainly know its not a fashion event.

just can't think straight atm and am not upto hours of going round the shops

I know it's not the done thing on here, SadSoul, but I don't care, have a hug, love x

PlumSykes · 05/03/2012 21:39

nellyjelly, I imagine that's what the OP is trying to do, hence the needing a black dress. If I had to go to a funeral, I would need to buy something too, since I never wear black and own no smart/office tailoring.

PlumSykes · 05/03/2012 21:40

Oh GOD, Sadsoul, I'm so, so sorry.

nellyjelly · 05/03/2012 21:40

I'm sorry. I was just taken aback by the question and it being on the style section. I wasn't having a go at you.

I'm sorry for your loss.

nappydaysagain · 05/03/2012 21:42

I'm so sorry Sadsoul. Thinking of you.

SadSoul · 05/03/2012 21:43

do you know what nellyjelly, i feel like you've just punched me in the the stomach, i thought i was upto posting on here but im clearly not.
i hope nothing like this ever happens to you as if it does, trust me you won't even know what day of the week it is, let alone what is suitable to wear.

anyway im going now, logging off, as im just not upto facing nasty comments

thanks to the genuine posts, i will look at those dresses.

I'm so sorry for your loss. In that case, keep things as simple as possible - Next deliver promptly and are easy to buy online. Your first choice was nice.

nellyjelly · 05/03/2012 21:58

It wasn't meant as a nasty comment. I was suprised at the question. I replied flippantly.

FWIW I'm sorry to have upset you. It really wasn't intentional.

dizzymac · 05/03/2012 22:04

I am so sorry for your loss.
If you are still checking this, for what its worth, when my dad died it was really important to me that I wore something I knew he'd like to see me wear, it was one thing I could control. I'm not a black wearer so I chose black skirt a red jacket I'd worn to my friend's wedding earlier in the year.

rightchoice · 05/03/2012 22:36

Oh, my heart goes out to you. Right, we have got to find you a dress. Have you tried Coast?

rightchoice · 05/03/2012 22:39

How tall are you, and I will have a google around?

c0rn51lkad · 06/03/2012 13:00

Massive hugs to sadsoul (()) xx
