Been very run down and have had problems with iron depletion which has given me some hair loss. It now feels thin and lank and gets greasy quickly. I normally use aveda brilliant shampoo but have just ran out.....so what to get next? Have read a bit about using coconut oil, but not sure if this will make the greasiness worse. Ideas and help pretty please! x

Sorry, nothing to suggest, but bumping as I'm interested to hear some responses!

My hair is terrible at the moment. I'm thinking of treating it from within, and trying some supplement for healthy hair. Can anyone recommend anything?

Ihave similar problems with my hair. I don't have much in the way of help, but I have been taking kelp (seaweed) tablets which is supposed to help strengthen hair. Also I have found that washing and coniditoning every day stops it being greasy. Once a week I use Morroccan oil (as suggested on here). Rub it into my hair and leave it overnight then wash out in the morning. It seems to make my hair heavier, if that makes sense.

I think getting the right nutrients is important, so maybe a multi-vitamin and iron tablet each day might help get you back on track, and lots of fresh fruit and veg. I don't think there's a fast fix unfortunately. I have started to get my ends trimmed every month, to try and keep it in as good a condition as possible.

Maybe someone will come along with more inspired help Smile

I have heard that protein at every meal is very helpful for hair. Also glamour magazine has hair freebies this month which might be worth a try for the price. Aveda themselves may also have good advice/ samples. I plan to try the coconut oil but haven't got to the shops yet, so I'll let you know!
