Bloody GHD's, are these still faulty? Help needed here!

I bought some new IV GHD's in December but sent them back as when closed the plates weren't flush.

There was a slight gap between the plates so when I straightened my hair I had to really squeeze to get them to properly straighten which seriously got on my nerves!

I sent them back to GHD and have just recieved a replacement pair which have exactly the same problem. At the tip of the plates they close fully but back towards the on switch there is a gap unless I really squeeze.

My previous ones, although had the larger plates, didn't have this problem.

Anyone have these and can check to see what they are like when closed, thanks.
