Let's start that thread....

Great:
-John lewis - fast delivery, no P&P over £30, no time limit on returns, but posting back a bit fiddly as youhave to email for a returns number.

-Boden- usually an offer for free P&P and refunds to card very quick.

Mediochre
-M&S- postage a bit expensive and takes 5-7 days.
Jigsaw and kKw- fast delivery nicely wrapped though expensive. Short returns time of only 14 days.

-White Stuff- postage expensive unless they have an offer, returns free, but they keep promising to do exchnges/refunds in stores and it's not happening. C'Mon you lovely people it's 2012- the IT is out ther so just do it!!!!

Poor
-White company- no returns label in packaging, form is in tiny print so hard to read returns address, and youhave to pay for returns unless you take to a shop. Take ages to show refund on cards.

Uniqlo are very good. I pay for standard delivery but it usually arrives next day. If you return stuff they usually email you a £5 off next purchase voucher.
Re. John Lewis, you don't need to get a returns no. any more, you just post it back.

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/03/2012 11:28

Poor - WrapLondon - slow as anything and patronising customer services. And have now found out that unless you return something guaranteed next day delivery at your expense - no guarantee they'll say they've received item and then you have to seek compensation from Royal Mail.

Excellent - NAP, My-Wardrobe, Boden, ASOS and topshop who refund your p&p if you return in store within 7 days.

cardoon · 02/03/2012 11:33

At the moment I'd say Aldo falls into the "poor" category

No sign of item I returned 10 days ago and take 2 days to reply to emails!

MrsCampbellBlack · 02/03/2012 11:34

We definitely should keep this up to date because it really puts me off purchasing from companies who take that long to do returns

Trills · 02/03/2012 11:35

Warehouse are good - they send you a text saying "we will deliver on , reply 1 to change to the next day, 2 to change to the day after"

ameliagrey · 02/03/2012 12:43

Returns legally companies have to refund your P&P if you return within so many days- think it is 7. This is the law for distan e selling. sometimes you have to ask- I asked Kew and they said they would but had I not asked I don't think they would have! it only applies if you return the entire order.

I know everybody hates them but Next are fantastic at deliveries and I just get a courier to pick up returns from my house so it couldn't be easier. They have the best delivery/returns of all the companies I have ever used.

Waspie · 02/03/2012 12:53

I completely disagree about Next. In my experience they were atrocious. They NEVER once delivered on the date selected. Grrrr.... Eventually I cancelled my directory because of this.

Having said that Next did send me a £20 gift card after I complained, which was a very nice gesture.

lulu05 · 02/03/2012 13:32

Good - French connection. Free returns(within 14 days though). VAT automatically deducted (live offshore)
NAP - as others have said just brilliant. Low delivery charge, free returns, refunds processed quickly and VAT automatically deducted.
John Lewis - always good but have to email for VAT refund. No need for arm anymore and no time period for returns.
I have also had good service from Neom Organics recently.

Poor - not keen on My-wardrobe. Had issues with promo codes with them and delivery cost is high. Have to pay for returns.
White Company - very high delivery cost to offshore islands, very slow delivery. Rubbish returns.
ASOS - can't fault their delivery and returns but won't refund VAT so sadly I just don't shop there anymore.

ruby22 · 02/03/2012 19:06

La redoute- utter shite, still having hassles with them, 3 weeks on and no item, countless phone calls and different story from each person I speak to. Never again

Had good experiences from Zara, Boden, Lands End, TkMaxx, pretty much everywhere else recently.

mirpuppet · 02/03/2012 19:13

Anyone have experience with Hobbs? I'm thinking of ordering something from teh outlet section and having it delivered to a store.

dexter73 · 02/03/2012 19:15

I have ordered from the Hobbs outlet and it was fine. I had it delivered to my house.

harbingerofdoom · 02/03/2012 19:23

Awful - Wall London. Had to wait over 3 months for a refund. Never again.

Very good- Damsel in a dress. Superb service and everything is quick.
Uniqlo. Quick and efficient.

DeeDee1977 · 02/03/2012 19:26

I think Next are brilliant, also Boden, John Lewis and Isabella Oliver. Id NEVER buy online from Abercrombie and Fitch again though, awful. Took ages, delivery was TEN QUID, customer service almost non existent. Bought a jumper for DH for xmas, it was a right palaver! He does like it though thankfully!

mirpuppet · 02/03/2012 19:40

Thanks dexter.

suebfg · 02/03/2012 19:49

Brandalley can be dreadful too - have vowed not to order from them again as they are soooo slow

suebfg · 02/03/2012 19:50

M&S are great - you can order £150 worth and get free nominated day delivery - even if you don't keep all the clothes

anniewoo · 02/03/2012 19:51

At least the companies mentioned deliver to you. So many companies refuse to deliver to Ireland or charge exhorbident postage and there are no free returns! Returns postage can be £££'s Sad

CHOOGIRL · 02/03/2012 20:11

I'm a big fan of the click and collect that John Lewis, M&S and Zara do. You can also do returns instore which is a bonus.
Favourites are NAP, My-Wardrobe, ASOS - order in the morning and you can have by the afternoon.

Those who don't offer free returns are a pain. Had to pay ££ to return to North Face.

BelaLug0si · 02/03/2012 22:52

Yoox recently managed to send me the wrong size item. The courier collected later the same day (good & no charge) and the refund was processed the same day, including the postage.
I won't have had the money for about 14 days in the end though.
Bad - they don't do exchanges (even if it's their fault) you have to re-order again and start from scratch. Item was out of stock in this case.
The order process is good, the customer service section on the website is a bit odd - it's actually easier to find the (free) phone number on the homepage without being logged in.

Overall 7/10 could be better but better than most
