I've lost my sense of style!

Since hitting 30, going up a couple of dress sizes and starting to work from home I seem to have completely lost my sense of style. I've managed to do a couple of extra jobs recently and have around £700 to invest towards a new wardrobe (a real indulgence!) but I don't know where to start.

I'm 5'5", a size 12 hourglass with a shortish body and largish 30F bust. I used to feel comfortable (when I was still in my 20's, went out to work and a size 8-10) wearing lots of figure flaunting nipped in waists, pencil skirts, peplum details and stilettos etc but feel overdressed in that sort of style these days (and it no longer suits my lifestyle). I can still comfortably pull off skinny jeans and ankle boots, but start to get lost when it comes to what to wear on my top half. In my minds eye I think I'd like to go for the skinny jeans, loose but shaped tops, cropped leather biker jacket accessorised with a scarf type look, but worry it might swamp my shape somewhat and make me look bigger than I am. A belted trench (cropped or otherwise) suits my shape well but I never know what to team it with for a more relaxed look. I think I could just about put together a few outfits for spring but would like to buy a few items that could take me through to summer also where I really don't have a clue!

Oh, and I often end up working in the fashion industry (so I should know what to wear right?!), so definitely need to find a personal style that can make me fit in but still be fairly relaxed and practical.

Any style mavens out there who wouldn't mind giving me a few pointers?
