I'm giving up on trousers...

Am a shortie and before the shops started selling petite I mostly wore skirts BUT when I saw that I could buy petite trousers / jeans I was delighted and hadn't looked back 'til now...

Problem No:1 I always need a belt with trousers, they never stay up comfortably without one.
Problem No:2 Only certain brands seem to fit, some at the cheaper end are too short. I fit a Next / Precis size 8
Problem No:3 Even when I buy Precis over Next the quality is poor eg they either need a wash or an iron after one wear and each wash of course makes the colour fade.
Problem No:4 I work part time and do need to be smart for work BUT I don't really earn enough to spend much on work clothes but at the moment I feel as if I am chucking stuff away before a few months wear.

I have no problems at the mo' with my jeans but that's because I have a fantastic belt that keeps everthing in place. My belt is not suitable for fabrics lighter than denim.

Well just wanted to get that off my chest

Anyone else no longer a trouser wearer and what do you wear instead?

How funny, I've been thinking about this lately. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and am starting to find my clothes uncomfortable. The most comfortable things are tights/leggings with large tops/sweaters. But with summer coming up I'm fantasizing about dresses and they sound so comfortable. If that turns out to be the case then, I was just thinking earlier, I might move over to dresses entirely. Seems old fashioned and worry abou thow it will look, but I also really love the idea of getting ready for work in the morning without having to put an outfit together - I get it wrong as often as not! And I suppose I won't have time to think about what clothes to wear come October!
