I have a pair of brown boots and a pair of red or dead shoes, neither of which are right for spring...I own nothing else except a pair of going out heels and wellies/crocs for garden. What do i get to go with skinnies and leggings until its sandal time? I'm short and can't walk in huge heels, have a very modest budget and am an Autumn so basically need brown and other warm shades, not black. Heeellppp!! Oh yeah and am, 3 and half so nothing I tried on in new look or primark yesterday fitted and clarks was full of people older than my mum with shoes just for them in my small town!!

Nice ballet flats?

sparkout · 27/02/2012 11:42

I think I need to enter the ballet flat world, Topshop and Next are the only cheaper places I have found with half sizes, what colour would you go for was wondering about nude or leopard skin sort of pattern...I really haven't a clue though as I tend to be surrounded by hippy and arty types and rarely get to go shopping without the "help" of a bored 5 yo DS and a very keen 2 yo DD!

Or red as I'm also looking for a trench and the nicest petite one I've found is red?!

Aren't ballet flats too cold for this time of the year? Are you supposed to wear them with socks btw? (...wool socks?)

sparkout · 27/02/2012 11:54

I had a lovely socks and sandals image there!!! Today is pretty cold but we have had some warmer days here and I'm looking hopefully towards spring!!

Fitflop Supertone trainers? Comfortable and come in lots of lovely colours.

How about cotton pumps? Bit like deck shoes. Available in lots of colours.

Not sure what your budget is but as you have small feet you could try russell and Bromley kids dept for ballet flats they have quite a variety of colours and also leopardskin. They also do 1/2 sizes. I bought some for my dd for her birthday they were about £40. I wish I had smaller feet as I could not tell the difference between the kids dept ones and the adults but the adult ones were twice the price

I tend to wear boots until it's really warm, the go into ballet flats or something like a suede driving shoe/moccasin with trousers.

have you had a look online at maybe Office and Dune?
