well my chanel one wasn't as it was straight from the bottle and too much always poured out. but it's just like a cream and you can get them in bottles or tubes

This smashbox one is nearly half price on qvc and is particularly for pores and lines...here
I haven't tried it personally though so not my fault if you get it and don't like it...there are 17 reviews to read though...

Selks - yes, primer will help with the appearence of pores and also stop your make up being eaten by your skin (if you put foundation on top of moisturiser your moisturiser grabs the foundation and drags it into the skin with it - primer acts as a barrier). It depends what kind of finish you want as to which to try first (it can be abit of a kiss a lot of frogs to find your prince situation - hence threads like this!).

Ah, thanks. Well I generally go for a light application of a matte foundation in a light shade to suit my skin tone. Little bit of pressed powder on my nose to stop shine. So any idea what would be a good primer for me?

the tesco barbera daly one is a good one to start with (£10). Not too silicone filled and feels really lovely (just like the bobbi brown £35 one). And it is easy to get hold of.

QuinnFabray · 27/02/2012 07:24

For anyone with oily skin in particular, the MAC spf 50 primer is the best one I've tried. I never buy anything else now. It stops shine coming through and stops my make up sliding off my face.

MistyMountainHop · 27/02/2012 07:33

the avon MagiX one is very very good, and also the new no7 one (can't think what its called)

EllenParsons · 27/02/2012 12:45

Smashbox Photofinish or MAC SPF 50

ObviouslyNot · 27/02/2012 20:17

Got the Barbara daly one today-Tesco have three for two on at the min so I bought two and a mascara Gah! I'm going to his s&b topic if this level of spending carries on!

Will see how I go with this one and then have a look at others if nec ( got to be honest price is a massive plus for me).

Thanks for everybody's replies
