I like quite sheer make up (I dont really wear it often, and tend to stick with BB cream) but was considering mineral foundation as an alternative. any good?

I've used BE Bare Minerals for years and love it. I hate cream foundations, so just used to use translucent powder, but minerals feels weightless and gives good coverage.

YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY Grin

Been using BE about 5 years...love it and have converted ALL of my friends to it (for everyday wear - we all like to mix it up). Great finish, you can choose what level of coverage you want, no demarkation lines, good for your skin, natural spf and it lasts all day...what's not to love???

hermioneweasley · 26/02/2012 17:15

I am a total convert. Great coverage but looks very natural - not 'made up'

neuroticmumof3 · 26/02/2012 17:17

I used BE for years but have recently converted to Lily Lolo which I find gives better coverage and is also cheaper. I'd never go back to liquid or cream foundations now.

what about the max factor one? they have the perfect colour for my skintone (I loved revlons vital radiance pore refining make up, but its discontinued Angry)

Not for me.

It looked great but I came out in boils all over my cheeks (Bare Essencuals)

Whitershadeofpale · 26/02/2012 17:47

I really think I'm doing something wrong as BE looks like I've rubbed brick dust over my face and magnifies every pore and line. Day to day I don't use foundation but love benefit's hello flawless. If I want more coverage I use dermalogica's treatment foundation underneath.

OracleInaCoracle · 26/02/2012 17:57

catinboots, yikes! stuff like that worries me.

cat - sounds like you are allergic to one or more of the ingredients.....

knitknack · 26/02/2012 18:12

Not for me either - it accentuated any flaws whereas with a liquid/cream that suits my skin and a good brush I can get a flawless look :)

My advice is to buy some small samples from lolo or similar and try it - I think it works for some people and not others, as with most things in life really!

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 18:15

definately...I use BE almost every day but sometimes I just want a different effect...My favourite liquid foundation is Bobbi Brown Moisture Rich

Reading the threads on S&B is costing me a fortune! Just looked at bare minerals and really want to try it!

GeetTallBird · 26/02/2012 21:23

I use No7 and its lush!
