Those nice lace dresses that celebs were wearing at Christmas

Any of those still around? Or have I left it too late?

Idiot me thought I could lose enough weight to fit into existing wardrobe for wedding in a couple of weeks. Alas not to be - have been low-carbing for 4 weeks or so, have lost 10lbs, but still not enough!! (wail, sob, berate greedy self, etc etc)

So I did fancy those lace dresses that celebs were wearing recently - looked like elbow-sleeved shift dresses in nice deep colours. Has anyone seen them in the shops lately?

I might get in to town this week sometime, boy #1 is recovering from a nasty virus, so I can just about count on boy #2 getting it the day after boy 1 goes back to school [fatalist emoticon]

I am 40, 12 stone apple shaped with biiigg boobs. Hips/legs ok. Shift dresses suit me best, cannot be doing with waisted things, as I dont have one!

I thank you all muchly.

If you don't have a waist belts are your best bet to give you one apparently. Shift dresses I don't think do anyone any favours.

This one from Pepperberry is lovely, no sleeves though, and designed to fit over large norks. You may think it's not for apple shapes but I beg to differ, there is a photo on Pepperberry's Facebok page of a lady who is a size 16 apple looking gorgeous. There are a few other lace dresses still in their sale too.

Oooh, that HOF one might do. Will pop there this week to see if I can try it on. Am too oddly shaped to order online.

Thanks all.

Get an lk Bennett davina dress.

BearlyThere · 26/02/2012 22:05

That even gives me a waist. Belts terrible. Don't do it. Also will make turs look like a ledge

Iatemyskinnyperson · 27/02/2012 22:25

thanks everyone for the replies.

Ended up with this one - flattering and HAS SLEEVES!!!

Bearly there, the Davina dress was fab, was just a bit out of my budget.
