Help, help , help, please...
So, I've just been asked if I can go on a work related trip in two weeks time, that will involve my attending and speaking at a conference, and then spending a few days visiting different projects / family centres in the region.

Don't want to out myself to anyone who knows me in real life, but the country I am visting is not in Europe, it will be warm (it's their late summer /early Autumn) conditions will be OK but nothing fancy, and might involve a fair bit of walking round.

I have very few suitable clothes, went to look yesterday and without mumsnet suggested alternatives, may default to the much contested linen trousers and cotton top and birkenstocks combo. There aren't an awful lot of summery things around yet.
I'm in my late 30s, size 14, large of nork (need to avoid anything v low cut as not work or culturally appropriate), legs ok, bit of a tummy. Budget is fairly tight and in any case don't want to take anything too fancy.

Suggestions much appreciated!

There is absolutely nothing wrong with linen trousers Smile mn is wrong about them Wink

I've found that a long skirt and shirt is very appropriate in warmer countries where being modestly dressed is correct. It covers without clinging and is ok in a number of temps as you can add a t shirt under the shirt if cooler.

You can get long suit skirts for smarter, or long full denim skirts for more casual. Ballet pumps for smarter, birkies for casual.

Ebay will be your friend for out of season clothes - have a browse

V-necked tunic tops/kaftan in linen or a light material on top teamed with black or beige capri pants would work. For shoes you can go for flat sandals or wedge espadrilles, easy to walk in and good in hot conditions.

I like that top from Monsoon: www.monsoon.co.uk/skylar-tunic/invt/12317554/&bklist=icat,5,shop,women,tunicandkaftan,kaftanwomens

and something like that for trousers www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_038010600160_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen%7ETrousers+%26amp%3B+leggings

Thank you all! Am inspired by the long skirt idea, also think the kaftan capri pants combo would work really well. Will go and have a hunt on ebay and also blow the budget on the lovely top from monsoon
