Hi, Lancôme used to do some pink based shades in their foundations as I used to have this issue,(I'm sure the shade i used was "lys rose" if my memory serves me correctly?!) also I found a no7 and max factor shade I could use. Bobbi brown, loreal, mac, chanel etc I used to find very yellow based and nothing seemed to look right at all! I now use bare minerals and love it, hence why I'm not sure if Lancôme still do the same colour range as I haven't bought a liquid foundation in about 2 years. Mineral make up might be a good option if you are wanting to step up from a tinted moisturiser as you can choose the level of coverage you want by applying more, or less product.

Mac, NW shades are warm, I'm an NW20, so quite pale
Estee Lauder i believe, though haven't tried them myself, the NC - yellow based look horrendous on me.
Chanel - Just picked up Matt Lumiere

I second bare minerals...If you are a cool but medium skintone then the shade medium is pinky blue based...perfect english rose complexion. Fair is super pale and also quite cool in tone (think those beautiful vampires from the twilight saga).

I use bare minerals and add rose radiance all over face colour on top to add more pink. I find them too yellow otherwise

lktoday5 · 26/02/2012 11:51

Clinique. When they test you they do a yellow/neutral and pink stripe. Perfect colour match for me Smile

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 11:52

cybbo - what shade do you use? BE do yellow and pink tones...you might find a different shade works better for you...though rose radience is lovely Smile

MissFoodie · 26/02/2012 14:06

I've got clear radience and hate it, looks really chalky on me, even though I'm pale....

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 14:12

Miss Foodie - I find warm radience and the tinted mineral veil to be the best and they work even when I am wearing BE in FAIR (which is their palest one)...most of the time I just use bog standard mineral veil though...

MissFoodie · 26/02/2012 16:51

so do you put mineral foundation + mineral veil + warm radiance?
and blusher? or do you use warm radiance as busher?

MissFoodie · 26/02/2012 16:52

blusher!

cybbo · 26/02/2012 18:14

mrsmartin I wear fairly light which is okay, bit pale for me

the rose radiance gives me the 'just shagged' glow I am always aiming for Grin

Levantine · 26/02/2012 19:48

Thanks. I find BE itchy, but rose radiance sounds interesting. Maybe I will re-investigate lily lolo. Thanks for other tips

L'Oreal do a pinky one- can't recall the shade but it's the palest- might be something like Rose Ivory.

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 20:29

missfoodie - I tend to use primer, then mineral veil, then foundation, then warm radience on forehead, cheebones and jawline, then blush, then hilighter, then mineral veil on top...sounds alot but never looks it - promise Grin. I use the warm radience where the sun would normally catch first (except my nose because it just highlights my v.beckham piggy nose!) - warm radience has a subtle sparkle whereas tinted mineral veil is much softer and not sparkly at all.

DonaAna · 26/02/2012 20:50

Revlon Colorstay in Ivory. I love it. Cheap as chips and perfect match and good coverage and much simpler to use than faffing with minerals.

I'm a pale blonde with very pink skin tone. My other current favorite is Chanel Lift Lumiere foundation in 0.5 Faience, but it is slightly too yellow.

MissFoodie · 26/02/2012 20:56

mrsm where can you get trial size be foundations from?

mrsmartin · 26/02/2012 20:58

I've only ever seen them on ebay to be honest...not sure if a BE counter would just give you them though? is there a particular shade you want to try?

MissFoodie · 26/02/2012 21:07

i think fairly light - also, is the hydrating mineral veil peachy or pinky?
sorry Levantine for hijacking!

ShakinScarecrow · 26/02/2012 21:07

Bobbi Brown only makes yellow based foundations as she believes they are universally flattering. All the Mac NW colours are pink based and all the NC colours are yellow based. I wear NW20 in Mac as I have pale, cool-toned skin, which means I have pink undertones. When I replace my current foundation, I will purchase NC20, however, so the yellow will neutralise redness on my nose and cheeks.

Levantine · 26/02/2012 21:35

Ha no don't worry, am interested
