style gurus - your challenge for tonight is to give me some tips as to a suitable CHEAP dress/outfit suitable for a formal university guest night dinner.

not very spangly! I quite like oriental/kimono type look. hmmmm - black trousers, nice new kimono type top thing, black jacket - how does that sound?

yes Lolita top exactly sort of thing I am after - still a bit dear though - might scout around for cheaper equivalent. will follow your new look shoe tip too
