I had my colours done today and under the new colour me beautiful classification I have been categorised as light, warm and soft. When comparing my swatches with the contents of my wardrobe I am left with nothing to wear so wondered if there were any more of us on mumsnet to share new clothing and make up finds... I need all the help I can get!

I'm soft warm and deep, so we will share the soft/warm colours, I think?

I've bought this camel dress and this light periwinkle dress recently.

alemci · 25/02/2012 11:25

Is this the same as a spring. I had my colours done 20 years' ago.

Periwinkle definitely featured. I like the blue dress

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 25/02/2012 11:38

alemci - I have no idea, hopefully someone more knowledgeable might turn up in a minute Grin

Gillybobs · 25/02/2012 11:44

Sounds like it could be equivalent to Spring...or Autumn ??this chart compares Light and warm is Spring, warm and soft is Autumn. So wtf is Light, warm AND soft???

If you are a Spring I can help you loads.

alemci · 25/02/2012 11:59

mine was spring flowing into Summer. i liked the season idea better. i must admit i never carried my swatches around but do tend to stick to the colours recommended

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 25/02/2012 12:46

Ah, thanks Gilly Smile - the OP must be spring and I'm a soft autumn

rodeoshoes · 25/02/2012 13:19

Had my colours done recently & am I light spring too! I've not managed to buy much yet. I did get a huge list of suitable cosmetic though of your interested?

anniewoo · 25/02/2012 17:45

20 years ago approx CMB consultant said i was a Warm Spring

Likeaheadlesschicken · 26/02/2012 21:29

Ooh I've only just seen these posts... I had given up a little on getting any responses but my faith has been restored! I think I am a spring in old money, light is my dominant colour, followed by warm with a little bit of soft for good measure!!

Gillybobs any help you could give me would be amazing, I am the big 30 soon and want to get working on my new capsule wardrobe!

missbehaving I saw both of those dresses on the DP website and they match my colours exactly but are out of stock. DP's seems to be having a bit of a renaissance this season, well with its dresses anyway.

rodeoshoes a list of cosmetics would also be brilliant as I need an overhaul and wasn't overly impressed with the actual CMB make up.

Thanks

I was draped as Spring in August. Been working on building a compliant wardrobe since then. Things Ive bought and worn loads :

Mint Velvet leggings in Slate and Navy. Brilliant quality and great staples now Im trying to avoid wearing black leggings here

Navy skinny jeans from Next. Only £26 and a great replacement for my black skinnies (see a theme?) Grin here

I like lace tops/t shirts to wear with my skinnies, loads of great Spring compliant ones at Forever 21 here

A couple of these in spring colours bargains

A jacket in navy or grey is a great basic. Also bought ankle boots and a leather bag in tan as an alternative to black. When you are wearing proper colours the black just looks too heavy

Dont underestimate the power of coloured jewellery or scarves. If you are struggling with the "bright" thing, start by wearing spring neutrals such as grey/navy and cream and add colours through your accessories.

God I could bore you for hours...

gillybobs that is wonderful thanks, you wouldn't be boring me, on first glance I have about 5 items in my wardrobe that are my colours so really need to start from the ground up! I previously lived in black and charcoal grey hence deciding to get my colours done, now I've done it I can't wait to get some colour into my life (sad cow emoticon!!)
