What would YOU like to receive as a b'day present?

A good pal is turning 40 and I'm really struggling as to what to give as a gift. Something she can keep (rather than an 'experience') would be good. Any ideas? What would you like to receive? What's been a good present that you've received previously? Budget between £50-£80 ish.

A gorgeous leather clutch bag that I can wear on girlie nights out. Something simple and chic.

:)

A nice scarf? Perhaps with a posh nail varnish that picks out one of the colours in the scarf?

Or a silver bracelet?

Or a purse?

I like experiences -- nice memories.

I had a slim but heavy/solid plain silver bangle that I wear to death. It will never date.

I like experiences too - had some lovely ones for my 30th. A fab afternoon tea at a posh hotel is always nice.

Gift wise dh got me one of these recently and had the kids names put on it which I love. I was also given a lovely set of pearl earings.

Oh I also got given a bottle of wine from my birth year in a presentation box which was lovely.

for Christmas I got an hour of peace and quiet - the in laws took the kids out for a walk, hubby took the dog out and I revelled in the peace.... simple pleasures!

Have you looked at Not On The High Street? Some nice gifts on there. Have given friends various prints (personalised and a house portrait) and jewellery (bracelets).

For my 40th, I got a destination print which I love.

I am collecting stud earrings in each gemstone in both white and yellow metals...you can get a pair of ruby or emerald studs in 9k gold from £25 ish...I think earrings are a lovely present that can be worn everyday...you could get her birthstone maybe?

Wow, thanks for those excellent suggestions! Plenty to go off there. Loving the Destination print too! Smile

Baby sitting, so I could get dressed up and go out.
My smart clothes and heels sit in the wardrobe gathering dust.
