I am on a budget drive and posted something earlier about wanting a copy of my fave MAC lipstick.

It got me thinking that we could share tips about cheap versions of pricey products.

Here's mine:-

Superdrug 2True cheek tint= Benetint
Time Delay cream cleanser in tube= Liz Earle C+P (doesn't small as nice though)
Aldi Lacura Concealer= Touche Eclat (I notice no difference at all)

I'll add more as I think of them...anyone else?

Asda
Highlighter (similar bottle too) benefit highbeam
Shimmer brick - bobbi brown shimmer brick

The superdrug 2true also do a great highlighter = highbeam
In fact - that range in general performs pretty well...

Superdrug MUA makeup acadamy range - their bronzer is fab (shade1) and only £1

Tesco barbra daly primer - really good.

Olay toner - really good £2a bottle (still use all premium skincare for everything else.

Fake opi cuticle oil pens from ebay - last ages and good for your handbag £1.30

and I get this stuff from poundland - vaseline, nail buffers, microfiber hair turbans (and sweeties Grin)

I haven't tried it, but know lots of people who swear by St Moritz fake tan. 3 quid on amazon at the moment.

warmandwooly · 21/02/2012 20:42

Ellie May-is it the cleanse and polish method?

yep - st moritz fake tan is very good - if you have a home bargins near you then it is only £2 in there yearround. Coincidentally, HB are also good for shampoo etc

mrsmartin I get loads from Poundland and Poundworld! I've had Sally Hansen, Maybelline and Rimmel nail varnishes, they're fab, especially for the fashion colours that you'll probably only wear a handful of times......Also had Revlon lipsticks, glosses and foundations, and have also had Maybelline Great Lash mascara. You have to root around to find it amongst the cheaper, crapper brands, but its well worth it. Also buy Radox bubble baths, and Johnson baby lotions, spray oils, night-time softwash etc. I dont mind paying more in other shops for other brands that I like, but I begrudge paying double for the exact same product I can buy in Poundland Grin

Pink Cloud blusher from Boots Natural Collection is as good as Benefit Dandelion!

Second the Poundland suggestion; I got TWO Rimmel eyeliners (the twist-up pencils) in a pack and they're really rather good.

elliemay80 · 22/02/2012 07:32
