Casual dress to go with chunky boots help!!!

Hello lovely style ladies, I need help to find a dress please. Has anyone got one, or can you point me in the right direction please?

I'm thinking of a dress to go to the pub in, with knee high biker (ish) boots. Dark colours, maybe a pattern?

I'm nearly 40, about a size 12 but a terrible pear shape. Dresses are all a bit new to me but I think I like them. I have one but I can't wear it to everything.

Feel like an idiot but I really seem to have no idea at all where dresses are concerned.

The first time I start a thread in ages and I get sunk in all the requests for loans!!

Forgot to add, my budget is limited.

I am not really qualified to post on S&B (I am more in the badly dressed aand ugly vein!) but Joe Browns do a good line in biker boot type dresses. IMO.

Are you thinking something like this? ...or not?

glitch · 20/02/2012 21:36

Oooh, not thought of them. That one is a bit young for me I think but I will have a look at the rest.

I would be wearing something like that with a t-shirt (possibly long-sleeved in this weather!) underneath and some goth-y necklace. Were you not going for that sort of look? Grin

On the plus side, dress & chunky boots was quite a nineties look, and apparently that is back in this season, so should be popping up in the shops. Allegedly.

I live in dresses and chunky boots. I find check dresses very wearable. I have this and this and have just ordered this and this

glitch · 21/02/2012 08:21

Thanks Boulevard, I'm not a great follower of trends so who knew I'd be so in fashion!!

Vivi, you are a star, have just ordered the last one from HoF. What a bargain too.

Now leggings, hmmmm. I have horrible memories of me in them in the 80's. Can I, should I go there again?

Great!

When it comes to, leggings - go there again. With boots, they just look like quality opaque tights, but they're much more comfortable. I just get these

glitch · 21/02/2012 10:15

Can you just dress me please? Grin
I have ordered the leggings too. Any other fabulous tips?

If you ever see someone dressed identically to you, you have just found me!!

Haha, brilliant! Today, I have just bought a couple of New look longline cardigans to add to my collection - its becoming a boyfriend cardigan rainbow in my wardrobe.

I've also found this, if you can look beyond the brand! Which I think will look great with a longline cardigan, patterned scarf, leggings and boots.

I also keep hovering over 'add to basket' on this too, but its very similar to one I already have....

I'm no style leader, but I've found a way of dressing that I think really suits me and I feel good in. Feel free to have a nosey at my pinterest!

ViV will you be my stylist?

LetsKateWin · 21/02/2012 20:03

Vivi my typing is terrible

glitch · 21/02/2012 21:17

That's 2 customers already Vivi! You could get a good business going here.
Loving the Ossom boots on your pinterest.

Thanks Rexy, not for me though. I don't know why, maybe my mum had one similar.

I've found this and this at Fat Face that I might look at tomorrow too.

Im partial to the odd bit of Fatface too, Glitch. LetsKate, it would be my pleasure!

The Ossom boots are killer aren't they. I've not googled hard but I dont think they're available in or shipped to the UK. Curse my pal in Amsterdam who put me onto that website!
