Shrunk fav jumper - how do I streach it?

My gandmother knitted a jumper for my dad years ago, but he managed to shrink it, so handed it down to me, I love it as it's one of the few things I have left from my gran, however DP has also now managed to shrink it and it's now probably small enough to fit a young teenager, I don't want to throw it away as it has a lot of sentimental value, so does anyone have any good ideas on how I can streach it back to a larger size?

I have heard that soaking in lots of conditioner will relax the fibres and make the garment "grow" a little.

I would experiment with Frizz-Eeze (spelling?) as this relaxes curly hair and it may have the same effect on your woolly's fibres.

Contact lens protein remover tablets may well help, the protein relaxes the wool in the jumper. I have tried this with some but not total success. Quite expensive if you don't have them already though.

I'll give those a try - thank you very much for responding, thankfully DP wears contacts, and I think he has some of those tablets left over...

And I think I have some frizz-eaze (sp?) that I tried on my hair and never worked
