Flesh-coloured patent high heels - are they a bit "last year"?

Just that really! (Don't think I can post links on iPad...)

I think they're pretty classic and nice as long as not too platformy/strippery.

However am rather liking the nude suede shoes I've seen around as an alternative.

cyb · 18/02/2012 19:40

A bit ubiquitous, I would say

I like all the bright coloured heels around atm

lisaro · 18/02/2012 19:43

I think the patent look is, but otherwise a classic.

suebfg · 18/02/2012 19:47

I hope not 'cos I've just bought a lovely pair from M&S

mrsmartin · 18/02/2012 19:51

not at all... Nude patent is just as much a wardrobe staple as a great fitting pair of jeans and a sexy black dress...you NEED them Grin

StellaAndFries · 18/02/2012 20:12

I've seen a lovely pair of mid heel nude patent shoes on amazon and I really want them, I do like the black patent, red suede and the cheetah print ones too. Not entirely sure I'd wear them though as a boring sahm :)

SaltResistantSlug · 18/02/2012 20:37

Thanks all - thinking of getting a pair. Do you have to wear them with bare legs? Mine aren't very nice!

I wear with sheer nude tights or buy yourself some wash off tan for legs (Rimmel have a good one)

mrsmartin · 18/02/2012 20:41

nude tights or leg make-up are fine. You can also do black opaques if worn with a black and nude outfit (think 60's mod updated).

SaltResistantSlug · 18/02/2012 20:50

MN is always the place to come for speedy and helpful advice isn't it?!

Could you recommend a decent brand of nude tights please? I'm a bit fussy with tights. Don't want them to look saggy or granny-like...

And have just boug the M&S ones... thanks sue :)

They're super comfy - Insolia are great for this - slightly pinky nude as opposed to camel nude. I hope you like them.

suebfg · 18/02/2012 20:55

Assumed you'd bought the Insolia ones there but I guess they could have more on their website!

mrsmartin · 18/02/2012 20:57

hmmm can't recommend nude ones - I'm a stockings girl Wink

FeedZombieEatSmartie · 18/02/2012 21:00

I begged asked DP for some nude suede heels for Christmas, they're lush! I've never been into patent shoes and don't own any.

One was obviously out of fashion last year! :o

mrsmartin · 18/02/2012 21:01

Nothing wrong with suede - you need those too... Grin

suebfg · 18/02/2012 21:02

The key thing is to buy very sheer tights otherwise they can look grannyish. Pretty Polly do some reasonably priced sheer nude tights - about £3 a pair and I pick them up in Morrisons.

mrsmartin · 18/02/2012 21:06

Just make sure they don't have a gloss finish...just another thing from the 80's that should not be around today!!!

suebfg · 18/02/2012 21:10

Agreed - they should be matte

permaquandry · 18/02/2012 21:22

Oooooh, can anybody link to the m+s ones, or give me a description, I can't find them...thx

suebfg · 18/02/2012 21:28

They're like these but in a pinky nude colour. They've disappeared online but I only bought mine in store last week.
