Opinions on this outft for party on Saturday...

Have got a family party on Saturday night and was thinking of wearing this sleeveless blouse from TopShop with these bright pink chino jeans from Gap, along with some black patent heels. Whaddaya reckon?

Party-goers (mainly family and a few friends) will be wearing anything from party frocks to nice top & jeans. My style is a little quirky (am normally found in jeans and a blouse/jumper/brogues) and I am a size 8.

I really love the jeans and want to dress them up somehow, as I'd like to have them in the wardrobe to wear with white v-neck t's in the summer months but want to take advantage of Gap 30% off denim!!

yep - if that ties into your normal style then it looks cute - maybe pop a black blazer over the top and add a statement necklace but other than that it looks fine to me.

Have you tried those jeans on as I found them huge - the always skinnies in the same colour were much better on me.

The blouse is pretty but polyester - I hate the stuff but you maybe don't . . .

No, I haven't.....will try the skinnies too. Are they too big to go down a size? Often have to do that in Gap. What's the fabric like?

Well I'm normally a 6 (uk) in gap and they looked like clown trousers on me - but I am only 5ft. Think I tried the 4 on and they were equally bad.

The fabric of the skinnies is lovely - wore them this week with a pale grey cashmere jumper and looked good with ankle boots.

The colour is really gorgeous

I don't hate it but I just want something cheap and cheerful rather than shelling out for silk. Other blouse suggestions most welcome though.

Good to know, will plan to try them both on. Am usually a gap 6 or 8 but am a bit taller than you so they might work I guess?

I bet they'd look amazing with grey....am always on the hunt for the perfect grey sweathshirt/jumper. Where's yours from?

I got mine from pure collection in the sale - its sort of sweatshirt style and was a bargain £49.

J crew have nice grey jumpers too.

Yes I think the chinos definitely required somebody more willowy than myself and to be fair I do prefer things super tight [mutton]

Thought I should report back post shopping trip...

I tried the pink skinnies and they fit really well but they are v similar to another pair that I already have and sadly Gap didn't have my size in the chino type jeans, so.....

I ended up buying this River Island black dress which I have to say looks MUCH nicer in RL. I plan to wear it with bright pink tights, black patent heels and my new Micheal Birch for Liberty scarf...might throw a black tuxedo jacker over thr top as well.
