Are there any other sources you use on the web?

Thanks

blogs - there's a really good one called Wearingittoday, v v stylish girl who works at Red magazine and wears normal clothes but v well put together

dingdong3 · 13/02/2012 23:14

I've a blog too. Huge fan of Wearing it Today so in the early stages of trying to adapt that approach for busy mums with no money who don't work in a cool magazine i.e. me Grin

www.wendyslookbook.com is fab.

mirpuppet · 14/02/2012 08:34

I like youlookfab.com/ for practical tips on how to wear clothes now. US based so links to specific clothing items not generally available in the UK.

I also like www.insideoutstyleblog.com.au/ on how to put outfits together. I also like her what not to buy advice -- a recent example

I like Kendi Everyday - she does some good video tutorials, too.

It's interesting that no one on these threads ever mentions being influenced or inspired by fashion journalists writing in magazines such as Red, Elle and so on, or in national newspapers, who often create videos dispensing tips. Could it be that bloggers are more influential and just more trustworthy - ie not beholden to advertisers/less likely to be angling for freebies?

theseventhdwarf · 14/02/2012 09:29

I like red magazine - and WIT blog. ( thanks to mumsnet)
Dislike The very high end fashion mags tho as I find things are over styled and beyond my imagination - ie not wearable in my everyday life Blush
That's why blogs are better cos someone is actually wearing stuff they have put together in real life! Wink

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/02/2012 10:17

I also like Kendi. Wendy looks amazing but is far too young and beautiful for the likes of me to try and emulate. I am bored by WIT and some of the things she wears (shoes especially) are truly hideous.

Gillybobs · 14/02/2012 10:35

ive always found Red magazine and Easy Living magazine good for wearable fashion ideas (although they do more aspirational fashion shoots too). I tear out pages of outfit ideas I like. Although Ive noticed Easy Living has been relaunched this month and looks to have gone decidedly down-market : (

ConstanceChatterley · 14/02/2012 11:55

I like Red Magazine too. WIT is ok an love Wendy. I really rate polyvore for looking at outfit ideas. Plus you can search by celeb which is often handy.

I like Sally Hughes' (I think that's her name) beauty column in the Guardian, though not a fan of Jess whatshername who does most of the posing fashion pieces.

suebfg · 14/02/2012 19:45

I'm liking these a lot!

I second/third Red magazine, I also look at facebook sites to see whats up and coming, and tbh I do visit a few shows to see trends each season...

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/02/2012 20:26

Oh and who's that v lovely makeup artist lady who does video tutorials? She is disgustingly pretty but seems really nice and down to earth too. Lisa somebody maybe?

Would love to see more blog links - especially ones for the no longer young and skinny (ie the 40 something hourglass that is me!).

Gillybobs · 14/02/2012 20:34

Lisa Eldridge remus

cyb · 14/02/2012 20:38

Lisa Eldridge

I normally watch Pixiwoo but she does absolutely lovely, wearable make up

Made me want to buy irridescent Chanel eye shadow in lilac

MDM · 14/02/2012 20:47

Do any of the blogs have advice for shorties like me?

cyb · 14/02/2012 20:59

this is lovely make up

Pharoahnuff · 14/02/2012 21:09

Butnthat kendi woman just has on some jeans and some boots. What's the deal there.

Like the wit adman butcher style is the same every day and tho colour choices are pretty only suit her dark italian skin. Also both are a size 10
Wit woman has obedient for terrible slipper shoes too. Ew

Pharoahnuff · 14/02/2012 21:09

But her

Not butcher

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 14/02/2012 21:16

Kendi has a fantastic selection of Steve Madden boots, which I covet. I'd rather like her legs too, tbh.

What is this butcher thing?

dingdong3 · 14/02/2012 21:20

I've just hauled myself off the Steve Madden site because of her...loving her boots. In awe at the number of followers she has ShockEnvy

partyhats · 14/02/2012 21:31

I like Kendi everyday too. WendysLookbook great too but I am more Kendi's shape and height and I like her style. She has some links to other good blogs on her LOVE LIST page, that may be worth a look

MDM · 15/02/2012 19:02

How do you know how tall / what size the writers are?
