Am slim, tall, about to ditch the Uggs as getting too wintry, too cold for sandals etc. ? Worth my vouchers?

what will you wear them with?

(if you say bootcuts and a fleece I will disown you)

dearjane · 13/02/2012 19:26

I think they're horrid. Sorry.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/02/2012 19:27

Hideous. They make even Converse look elegant imho.

cyb · 13/02/2012 19:29

On second look, I can see what you are trying to do, but you arent a member of Run DMC

There are other more classy versions of that Hi top style around

Hang on I'll look

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/02/2012 19:31

I saw some lovely ones in (I think) KG - but they were fiendishly expensive.

cyb · 13/02/2012 19:42

Yes i was tryingt o search KG site but is lamentably slow

I think ASh do some nice hi top ones but also £££

grumpypants · 13/02/2012 19:48

Well that's me told! Obv no fleece in my wardrobe just yet! Am thinking skinnies, replacement for converse, not too bright etc

grumpypants · 13/02/2012 20:06

Oooh cyb they are v nice but I like the extra strap thing on the first (now dismissed) ones...

IslaValargeone · 13/02/2012 20:08

QuietOhSoQuiet · 13/02/2012 20:55

I just showed my dd 12 these and she squealed I want some,I want some

loosely translated this means yes they are too young for an old bird :o

ggirl · 13/02/2012 20:58

the schuh ones are hideous unless you are a teen witha hoodie

JasperJohns · 13/02/2012 21:01

If by 'old bird' you mean under 20 - they're fine. Grin

grumpypants · 13/02/2012 21:44

Right, think I have my answer. My dd (13) also did the squeal quiet - jasper ggirl - thanks, ill shuffle off to clarks now......

I'd love to be young enough for high-tops because I think they is well cool but at almost 39 I don't think I can pull them off. No idea how old you are but I think the shrieky teenagers have answered your question :)

OnlyANinja · 13/02/2012 21:52

They'd look better on a human than an old bird.

But only marginally.

grumpypants · 13/02/2012 22:04

But I've had botox and everything for my xmas present from my mum. Now I want to buy some well cool phat trainers with my vouchers and I am too old. wannabe I am thje same age as you, and if you say no I will have to defer.

OP posts:
QuietOhSoQuiet · 13/02/2012 22:24

grumpy

you can't have them and no amount of foot stamping is going to make any of us give you permission :o

grumpypants · 13/02/2012 22:39

Fine. I have never had duff advice off you style and beauty types, even when I really wanted that padded moschino bag you all hated and my mum said I could have for my birthday. Now I will go and get some toms or keds or flat things from that french sole place. And bravely head towards middle age. In a stylish way.
(Just noticed the recurring theme of my mother pushing me towards certain things!)

UnnamedFemaleProtagonist · 13/02/2012 22:42

I like them. I am an old bird and a FT student. I don't belong in S&B for now. I'll come back when I begin teaching and need a sensible wardrobe.

FoofFighter · 13/02/2012 22:42

Converse, whats wrng with them? I'm almost 40 and wear them still Confused

cyb · 13/02/2012 22:43

Nothing wrong with cons

we ALL know that
