Can you help me buy a new winter coat, something dramatic, maybe red?

I am hoping I timed this right so it's not too late!

I already own a knee-length cream belted coat with a fur collar, which is lovely and warm, and a very dramatic floor-length black velvet one that is not warm. I'd like something a bit more practical too, but still pretty and a bit dressed-up (I like wearing coats that make people assume I've made an effort and hoping it detracts from the rest of what I'm wearing).

I'm 5'4 but wear heels a fair bit, dark hair, size 12/14. - I'd love something in dark red, maybe? But not that fussed on the colour. Basically if there's anything you've seen and thought was really nice, let me know! Or any recommendations of where to look first.

you'll be lucky as all the spring stuff is coming in now- coats come into the stores in Sept.

Yeah, I expect I'm over optimistic.

French Connection still have AW11 sale stuff in store (well, as of Thursday which was the last time I was at the shops) and plenty of coats, heavily reduced. Might be worth a check?

Ideally I'd like something a bit longer than the Wonderland one - knee length or longer - so it's nice and warm. But I shall go look at that as the colour si so pretty.

How tall are you? My coat comes to just below the knee (I'm about 5ft4) - I think the model is quite tall!

Ahh ... of course! Silly me.

I will look but still open to more suggestions if anyone has them - I think I would rather something longer and a bit more swishy than that (and I am an eternal optimist assuming there may be more than one coat still out there! ).
