Help me find a dress for a wedding

My dearest friend is getting married at the end of March and has asked me to be her sort of bridesmaid. I can wear whatever I like. So - the wedding is at a country house hotel and will be outdoors if the weather is good. I'm 5ft8 and a size 12, but still with a bit of a tummy after having my dd - spanx will be worn! I have a budget of up to £150. Any takers?

ooo, lovely! I love weddings. do you want long or short? any particular colour?

Bloodyhellthathurts · 11/02/2012 11:35

Long tends to look a bit maternity on me (big boobs plus the mentioned tummy) so knee length works better. I can wear pretty much any colour but tend to go for blues and greys - all help gratefully received!

this is nice

That is lovely but feels a bit night-time. Plus the bride is wearing quite a hippy-ish dress so I think something a little more demure might be in order?

these 50s dresses are gorgeous - i've got one and it gives you an amazing figure, with no need for spanx. It's not everyone's cup of tea but mine makes me feel a million dollars, i've got black and white spot with a full black petticoat.

Issa - particularly the wrap dress. Silly prices new but gorgeous silk jersey (which doesn't crease & hangs beautifully). Sizes are quite small so go for a 14. I have two & they make me fab.

They turn up on Ebay all the time.

Absolutely loving the second one, tethers. I'd heard you were good...

I just bought this for a wedding and I Lor it:

Pepperberry

Bloodyhellthathurts · 11/02/2012 16:03

I'm preferring the simple shapes - suspect the 50s styles are a bit more Amy Winehouse than Sandra Dee on me!

I love this but it's waay over budget.
