Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair or Clinique Laser Focus serum or Boots Protect and Perfect?

As a night treatment what do wise MNetters recommend when I have to splash out? Not sure I have the correct name for the Clinique product. It comes in silver packaging.

I've tried all of these and found Estée Lauder advanced night is by far the best for me. It takes a while to really work but if I stop using it I can really tell.

Clinique one did nothing for me and protect and perfect was too harsh for my skin.

Thank you

How many bottles nefore it starts to work? It's expensive stuffSad

My one bottle lasts me about six months! It lasts a lot longer than other serums I've tried. You don't need much for it to work and I would say you will start to see a difference within two weeks but you need to keep going to get the full benefit.

You could ask for a sample first to see how it feels. HTH :)

Oh dear i must have been doing something wrong. I used up a bottle of it within a month- as it is so expensive and i didn't see any change in my wrinkles i was hoping my other cheaper suggestions might be as good!

Did you use moisturiser on top? I only use a small amount just where I need it, then moisturiser on top.

I did try Soap and Glory "wish upon a jar" just before Christmas. it's a 21day treatment use morning and night. it's a thick cream so nothing like ANR but I did see improvement using that and it is only about £15.00 so worth a try, also boots do 3for2.

I love EL Advanced Night Repair. I've used it since Iw as in my twenties, morning and night, and it really helps my skin, I think. I use two drops for my whole face, and then I moisturise (with EL DayWear for dry skin). The ANR lasts me 3-4 months, as does the DayWear, both used twice a day.

If you can get a sample bottle, then go for it. I think they're 7 ml. The smallest of the two bottles you can buy is 30 ml. so a 7 ml sample should last you nearly a month.

House of Fraser are doing a 'buy two EL items, get a free gift' at the moment. But I don't know what the free gift is, sorry - they're usually pretty generous though.

I think the way to do it is to use a serum that targets what you think are your 'problem areas' (dry skin, red skin, wrinkles, dark circles etc) as it sinks in more easily, and then slather moisturiser over the top of that and over your whole face and neck. I use expensive serum but cheap moisturiser and think that's probably a good way to go about it.

None of the above! Love Your Life Lines is my new favourite: www.mamamio.com/uk/love-your-life-lines.html Plus when you use it in the day it has light reflectors to stop the wrinkles being so obvious ? genius! xx

Gillybobs · 14/02/2012 13:12

Seconding the Soap and Glory "wish upon a jar" recommendation. First thing thats ever given me really visible results. Magic stuff

anniewoo · 14/02/2012 15:25

Ohh- actually bought Wish upon a Jar so can't wait to start it. Obviously i was using far too much Advanced Night Repair.

I am going to start with Wish upon a Jar again now! It's really good for the price. Let us know how you get on with it?

Hopefully we will be wrinkle free in 21 days :o

ameliagrey · 14/02/2012 17:46

if you want to target wrinkles, you need something with retinol in it- nothing else is going to work.

One of the newest anti wrinkle products is Olay- don't know what it is called but it's a pack of night and day creams I think and maybe a serum, but it has had good reviews.

Also- prevention is the way to go, so if you are not using SPF 25+ daily- 365 days of the year- start now!
