Pantene shampoo - what's happened to it?

I have used this range for years, various different varieties. In the last 2 weeks I have tried Repair and Protect and the one for coloured hair. I have had both many times before but now my hair feels awful with them. The best way to describe it is to say it feels like it is coated in wax and it feels very heavy. Even my scalp feels like it covered in something. It has become almost impossible to style as it doesn't seem to want to dry and is looking very limp. I will have to abandon both bottles, my hair feels greasy and looks dull.

Has anyone else noticed a sudden change in these products or is it just me? It seems like something has been added to the ingredients recently which is making my hair feel very dirty.

Thank god! Thought it was just me. Have used classic 2 in 1 for years, bottle changed and my hair is now claggy. Binned the bottle, will not bother again. I know they wouldn't care, but that's 10+ years of loyalty.

Is Pantene the one that launched a new split end one? Been trying to look for that for my daughter.

Can anyone recommend one?

Thanks!

I am using the new Pantene Split Ends Serum purple - it's wonderful stuff!

This is an interesting thread. My friend who is a hairdresser was aghast to see my bottles of Pantene in the bathroom, she told me what others here have said, that it leaves a waxy coating on your hair. She said Herbal Essences was bad too.

So like a good girl, I left the Pantene for DS to use chucked it out and have been using either Aussie Miracle Moist or Organix Coconut conditioner.
Neither of which get the tangles out of my fine shoulder length hair, so I am rubbing in Organix Argan oil afterwards. This is all getting a bit expensive and doesn't really work either.

I feel like going back to Pantene just for a nice waxy coating with untangled hair!
Any suggestions?

valium is it called Split End Pantenne? I was looking for it over the weekend and couldn't see it. I don't need it, my long haired daughter does!

purple it's a small tube of serum - the packaging is green.

It's got too much silicone in it! Just full of nasties and you don't need that right now. Get the NAKED range from Boots, it's 97% organic and smells gorgeous. Been using it since my L'Oréal bran started failing me (too many chemicals) and I'm hooked!

I think the best thing is not to have a regular brand - just buy whatever the pound shop happens to stock as long as it is not the same as your current shampoo!

My hairdresser is always amazed by the condition of mine and dd's hair so it works for us!!

Agree Pantene have changed their formulation and its horrid now.

I started using the pantene 2 in 1 18m ago (after dc2 was born) and found it great. DH used it too. Now I have noticed my head getting so itchy and scurfy and even DH has started getting a bit if dandruff and he has oily skin. My scalp got so bad I have ended up using the nutrogena coal tar shampoo for skin conditions and for conditioner I have been using tresemme natural. Head doesn't itch and hair feels amazing. Going to try the tresemme natural shampoo I think.

Glad it is not just me, thought I was going mad! Oh and I can never use Herbal Essences either.
