So i've just had my birthday and had quite a bit of money given me. i was going to buy some eyeshadows but looking on the web thought i might be better off getting a palette instead as there are quite a few bright colours i would like.

So do you know where i can get a good one?

I would go with MAC as you can customise your own 4-pan or 15-pan palette. They have sooooo many colours, including plenty of brights, so you'll be spoilt for choice :-)

In case you don't want to go down the High St route - look at these bad boys www.gurumakeupemporium.com/epages/BT4080.mobile/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT4080/Products/101/SubProducts/101-0001

( I have to ration my exposure to that site otherwise I spend the cash that I should be splashing on my MN purchases - beauty boxes, Levi Curve jeans, silver sequinned skirt, the list goes on ..... )

And, in case you can't see the colours on there, www.makeupforever.com/products/matte-eye-shadow.html

Another vote for Urban Decay. Their Naked palette is a gorgeous collection of naturals and they also do quite a few sets of lovely bright colours (which I am now too old for!). My favourite colours ever from them are: Sin (a glittery pale gold), Smog (a golden brown) and Mildew (a rich green) but they have loads of gorgeous colours, they last for ages and their Primer Potion means that you can put them on in the morning and they stay all day - I like them better than Mac.

urban decay naked is my staple now..i think there is another version out now..

Another vote for the Urban Decay Naked palette. I wear it every single day but not bored by it as there are so many wearable shades in there.

anniewoo · 05/02/2012 19:19

Why did urban decay get rid of the Big Buddha brush?

heliumballoon · 08/02/2012 15:03

I like urban decay naked pallette 2- note this is the newer version of the one linked to in today's mumsnet swears by email. More wearable colours IMHO. £36 for 12 shades.

valiumredhead · 08/02/2012 15:28

UD naked is FANTASTIC! The Naked 2 palette is out in March here!

MUCH cheaper on ebay! I got the original one for £18. I wear it every day it is so fab.

Rambling now as you already have it Blush

LizziePizzie · 09/02/2012 12:44

I love Urban Decay, been using it for over 15 years now, although I am sad that Boots have stopped selling it.

EllenParsons · 09/02/2012 16:28

I have heard Inglot pallets are good and they have lots of bright colours. Worth a look? Also LORAC.
