Help me find a dress to get married in

i haven't said a wedding dress because it is second time round for both of us and we are planning a very small wedding, just me, dp and 3 dc.

I would still like to feel like a bride though. I am thinking of a light colour, cream, white, gold maybe. Not a long dress, more a fitted dress.
I have looked at LK Bennett and Hobbs. Where else should i look?
Thanks in advance.

sorry ment short not stright

QueenCadbury · 03/02/2012 17:41

Have you tried Coast or Monsoon as they do wedding dresses and I think some of them are short rather than long.

Debenhams also does bridal wear I think so they may have a short dress?

This site was linked to on another thread (about bridesmaid dresses). Have you thought about having a dress specially made?

We had a very small wedding too, I found a short preloved dress on ebay that was exactly what I wanted.

Have you tried John Lewis and Phase Eight? Dare I mention Boden? their 'occasions' dresses are lovely.

Thanks for all the links. I'll spend a happy evening browsing them with a glass of wine and Come Dine with Me in the background :)

My first s&b post - v exciting! I got married last week in the cream Lorna dress from Reiss - very sorry I don't know how to link. We also had a small wedding and I didn't want anything overly bridal. Congratulations btw!

casawasa · 03/02/2012 20:57

ohmeohmy I had already looked at this dress online. This is my favourite of all the dresses i have looked at. John Lewis only have a size 6 left. I wasn't size 6 first time round never mind now :)
I might order it from the Damsel in a Dress website. They will refund if you return an item.
I live in the middle of nowhere in scotland so I cant get to dress shops easily.

The Coast Jocasta dress is fantastic. I have one in black, it's also gorgeous in Ivory:
