What do you wear with ballerina pumps?

I really like ballet pumps but always end up feeling very frumpy whenever I wear them. What clothes look good with them? And what goes best hosiery-wise?

I find that tan pumps are the most useful, though I can definately appreciate metallic shades. My suede leopard print pumps come in at a close second...so chic and beautiful with indigo jeans, a white shirt and either a black or tan bag.

I posted the thread about TK Maxx for Bloch flats. I have regretted it ever since as now my local one never has any left

I need some new leopardy ones actually.

Am stealing pop socks idea for colder days and because my feet smell when I don't wear socks

Another vote for silver. Although last summer I got some fab peach Miss KG ones which I lived in (and got lots of comments on).

Sal sadly I lived nowhere near the Repetto shop, but I used to make a special detour to go and perve gaze lovingly.

Also searching for the perfect leopard print flat, where are yours from mrsmartin?

anniewoo · 05/02/2012 09:34

Sadly ballet pumps too flat for my flat feet. Any nice ones with a slight heel? No Ressell and Bromley in IrelandSad mrs.martin

anniewoo, I find hobbs shoes really comfortable, these have a small heel.

I wear my ballet pumps with everything, just easy to slip on and so comfy.

salamanda - I've just bought some lovely silver ones, so hope I will find them useful too! I just need to find an outfit that goes with them that doesn't make me feel so dowdy!

Why do they make you feel dowdy cloudminnow? Are you more used to wearing heels? I have two friends who are very slim and tall and claim to always feel short and fat when they wear flats - they don't look it (obviously), it's just because they're used to seeing themselves with the super-elongated legs that heels give them! On the other hand, I'm so unused to seeing myself in heels that when I wear them I think I look like a gangly giraffe.
