How do you get rid of blackheads???

I'm 36 and have alot of blackheads on the chin/nose area.

I've never been one to care about makeup and I only wash my face with family soap.

But recently I've been getting really annoyed by my blackheads. I have no intention of starting to wear makeup to hide them, so does anyone have any recommendations on if theres something else I can do/use to help get rid of them.

Thanks, I might give them a go.

I use the neutrogena daily blackhead scrub which is good but you do have to use it every day as I find I get spots otherwise

Regular swimming followed by sauna.

Any soapy washy things I tried were really dissappointing, but this really made a huge difference.

I think the combination of chlorine to dry my skin a bit and sweating the gunk out before it becomes a blackhead is the answer! Plus the exercise factor helps with skin in general Grin

Alpha H liquid gold, or a similar glycolic acid treatment will get rid of them. I'm 36 too, and have tried everything over the years. This has really helped. I've not ever had the full on glycolic peel, just used toners and moisturisers with a lower dose in.

You squeeze them after a hot shower. Blackheads last about 30 seconds in this house!

I tried for year and the only thing that sorted mine was Elemis Tri-enzyme wash. I use it every morning and night after cleansing and I give myself a Tri Enzyme facial once a week - my skin now looks like something from a magazine!!! That said, it doesn't sound like you are really into fussy routines so I think QuinnFabray is right - Liquid gold could be great for you (you just put it on a cotton wool pad and wipe it over your skin like a toner every other night - you will definately see an improvement and you can try it on the qvc money back guarantee).

Also watch your diet as greasy food makes them worse also try using a toner with alcohol to dry them up. Squeezing them after a hot bath is good or if you can afford a facial ask for "extraction" they will remove all the blackheads. Also never go to bed without washing your face and watch out for greasy face creams

I was just posting about this on another thread! I have had spots and blackheads in my 30s to rival my teens... I have found that this combination works for me Mama Mio Clean Slate cleanser www.mamamio.com/uk/clean-slate.html and the Mighty Moisture www.mamamio.com/uk/face/mighty-moisture.html - it?s the only moisturiser that doesn?t bring me out in zits but still makes me feel plumped up if you know what I mean! ;)

I found the Clean Slate far too harsh on my skin - but do love the mighty moisture moisturiser.

Neostrata Glycolic peel, maintained occasionally with Glycolic wash.
No more blackheads or other nasty bits here
