How would you accessorise a red dress for a wedding ?

I need shoes, bag, jewellery and possibly some form of jacket/pashmina type thing (wedding is at the end of March). What colours should I go for ?

this is the dress

I think I d go for

  1. leopard print bag - clutch (maybe oversize) with black or nude heels, and a black coat/ jacket But that s maybe very safe and possibly too wintery

If you were feeling bolder a purple or cerise colour clash might be interesting for shoes and bag for the jacket I think or use the colours with a silver or neural shoe ?

I bought that dress for a wedding late last year. I paired it with leopard and black sandals and a black clutch with a touch of leopard. I bout a faux fur capelet for on my shoulders as feel a coat ruins the look

Thanks for the suggestions. I really don't think I can do leopard print. I have very bleached blonde hair and I genuinely can't get away from the Pat Butcher/Bet Lynch connotations. I love it on other people but just not me.

I've got a silver faux fur shrug thing (which I wore for my own wedding). There should be a pic of it on my profile. I'm not sure whether its too "much" for a guest though ? I could then do grey/silver shoes or even black

That shrug is perfect. Def not too much. Did you buy that dress ages ago, I remember commenting on your thread not long after Id bought mine?

And yes think silver shoes would be great if you wear your shrug

Moveslikejagger · 30/01/2012 15:23

Silver shrug would be lovely and I totally LOVE your wedding dress.

MissFoodie · 30/01/2012 16:00

gorgeous dress!
shrug sounds lovely, otherwise i'd keep all the accessories simple, maybe some nice earrings and a cuff?

lisaro · 30/01/2012 16:05

The shrug is great - just a nice black and silver bag and shoes would be lovely. Although I have to say, if you turned up in a bin liner you'd probably look good! What a beautiful family you all are.

Oh, lovely dress. Agree silver shoes would be fab, less wintry than black.

TapselteerieO · 30/01/2012 19:17

These are a good colour.

Tillyscoutsmum · 30/01/2012 19:32

Excellent - thanks all. Just need to remember where the shrug is now Shock

lisaro - thank you Blush. It seems like a long time ago now (although its only been 3 years, we've since had the incredible non sleeping baby/tantrumming toddler which has aged us about 10 years)

Gillybobs - yes, I bought it in about October last year. I was going to wear it to a wedding just after Christmas but it was a bit tight after my indulgences Blush I'm dieting now so it fits nicely again

I'm tempted by these shoes. What do you think ? Some of the "silvery silver" ones are a bit Strictly Come Dancing iyswim ?
