desperately seeking trousers with strong elasticated waist for 7 yo!

I've a very skinny 7yo and it is really hard to get trousers that will stay up! I've tried adding elastic to jeans and so on, but almost the only pair that will stay up I bought in a charity shop - brand IANA - and as they are age 5 they are getting way too short...anyone able to help? I've tried Boden, M and S, Next and none are elasticated enough, and even with belts (when there are belt loops!) the trousers just hang down...any tips please?

I have the same problem with my 2 daughters. I found H&M were the best, great skinny jeans, but not a lot better than m&s / next, and I did have to yank the elastic in a long way.

Also we find boots and leggings works well, as then you can go with the waist size rather than the length.

Problem we find is for leggings too, have posted as a real problem for my little girl who's just turning 3.

great, thanks all. Just got 2 pairs of boden sailing trousers that he can never wear as they will never stay up! grrrrr...ironic that 2 prs of IANA cords cost 50 p each and he lives in them, whereas the bodens cost £35 and are fit for nothing!

Would second H&M, skinny coloured jeans are fab for ds1 (8). Zara also do a good range. Gap do some straight leg cords which are great too.

Ds1's trousers come almost exclusively from Gap and H&M for the same reason! He's v tall, but super skinny (he's 8 and can wear his 2yo brother's trousers..). Also got some lovely cords for him from Joules.
