M&S girls' underwear. Any good?

I'm not in the UK but it turns out it'd more cost effective to order new underwear for DD from there than to buy it on the highstreet here. Ho hum.

I'm wondering if it's a false bargain though - I've no idea what M&S is like for quality these days. I got the ones she has now here they're lovely quality, wee bit of scratch but no bagginess on the vest. Pants are OK but not the shape I DD prefers.

Anyway, what I'm after is plain white pants and vests. These and these seem ideal. but

Next ship to Europe too but don't seem to believe in plain (or even plain-ish) white.

Any ideas?

I would say you can't go wrong with m&s, they seem to last. The other place I got some very pretty cupcake patterned vests and knicks is from next.

I've been buying the vests for years but I steer clear of the knickers. Those shorts are flappy and baggy round the bum and a waste of money.
If she likes shorts try vertbaudet or H&M. Those are much more like shorts and the H&M ones are really stretchy (size up in both brands though).
No all white packs though.

Gap make great pants for girls. They keep their shape and are lovely and thick. Have not tried the vests though.

Ha ha, same, I order DD's undies (& mine!) from the UK. Marks great for vests but the knickers are really weirdly cut - don't like them at all. We do Mothercare or Gap (if I can get them on sale) for knickers.

Ah, right, thanks for the advice, have checked out the links / tips...

Ordering from two places (double delivery charge) would stop it being worthwhile I fear. I'd like to get some naice vests as well as plain white but I'd rather have all white than just coloured / patterned. Would also like to order some leggings and / or tights at the same time.

So:

M&S - vests good pants not.
Next - (do do white stuff after all) any idea on fit / quality?
Gap - Don't do vests (WTF?)
Mothercare - do vests and pants, again, any idea on fit / quality?
vertbaudet - nice pants but don't seem to do vests Hmm
H&M - we have them here, they also don't do vests (don't girls get cold?). Check this price difference 3 pack short type pants UK £4.99, exactly the same in NL 7,95 euro = 6.67 p0unds. Shocking.

I wonder if this is worth the fuss!

H&M do do vests, we have had some from there in the past.

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 30/01/2012 08:06

vest

HettyKett · 30/01/2012 08:16

Urgh, sorry, my question is. Which does the better pants and vests? Mothercare or Next?

Have had tights from both before but it was ages ago, both were fine, mothercare a bit better quality IIRC. But, Mothercare leggings are all pastely and dull but they have some tights that would suit. Next leggings and tights are more what I'm after. Both are still reasonable quality, I assume?

x posts.

Eh? Thank you! Where do they hide them? Not in Underwear as far as I can see...

Oh, H&M UK ships only to UK & Ireland...

vertbaudet - I mean they only have tshirts (which I find tend to show at the neck) and strappy vests (which DD doesn't like).

Dd2 wears the brief style m&s ones and they fit really well so it depends how keen you arson the short style
