Help! What do I wear to get my colours done? Tomorrow!

Given that my face has got to go au naturalle, should i just wear jeans and a t-shirt?
Or should I make a bit more of an effort? Will the other women be stylish and together?
What if I wear my favourite skirt, and I'm told I can't wear those colours any more?

Wear your skirt if it makes you feel better

And enjoy Smile

FromGirders · 28/01/2012 22:49

Ta. I guess I'll probably just make up my mind in the morning. I'm just panicking - what if I don't like the colours I'm supposed to be?

Ta!
It's just as well I'm allowed whatever colours I like elsewhere - I'm not planning on re-tiling my kitchen if I'm not allowed to wear sparkly pink!

Unless you're really unfortunate you probably naturally gravitate towards the colours that are best for you.

KristinaM · 28/01/2012 23:45

If you love pink, for example, you will find out which pinks are your best. And which other colours to wear with it to flatter your skintone. Nd how much of it you can wear.

Dont worry, it will be fun

KristinaM · 30/01/2012 11:00

So how did it go?

FromGirders · 30/01/2012 13:26

Well, i wore my jeans, glad I didn't get too dressed up, because neither of the other ladies did either.

I'm an Autumn Leaf.

Going to struggle with the lack of black (how on earth do you do rock chick without black?), I've not got a single brown item in my wardrobe, and I never have. Have to say goodbye to all my pinks and blues. Like the greens and kingfishers though.

The lipstick is frankly terrifying, but I think I love it Grin

What's the 'leaf' part mean?

mirpuppet · 30/01/2012 14:51

Brown leather jacket to do rock chick? I'm sure you will look great.

KristinaM · 30/01/2012 17:54

Is brown your best neutral? Did it look really good on you? What are your best colours? And did you see the difference with them?

Did you enjoy it?

anniewoo · 30/01/2012 20:14

who did the colours for you HOC or CMB ?

FromGirders · 31/01/2012 00:23

Yep, brown is my main neutral.
If course when I say brown, I mean chocolate, tan, bronze, beige, camel, cinnamon, dark brown, chestnut, coffee and old gold. I can cope with brown better if it has tasty sounding names. And apparently there are lots of different browns that like me, however ambivalent I feel towards them. I'll keep practising with them though!
I went to HoC - she was really good, very enthusiastic, and spent plenty of time on each of us.
I think the leaf part is because so many of the greens and browns were my best colours. I could actually see the difference, though it was harder to see it on myself than on the others.
Wore my right colours and lippy all day today - they're growing on me!

The thing is, even if you don't love the colours chosen for you, they love you. :)

So it becomes a greater than the sum of its parts situation.

Instead of thinking 'there goes Girders in a brown dress', it's 'there goes Girders looking amazing!!'

The colours make you look good and you make the colours look good IYSWIM.
