Nail varnish on fingers & toes - matching or not?

Help!
I'm very late 30s, slightly overweight chunky at a size 14-16 and only 5"1'.
Tonight is DH's work Christmas Party.
I'm wearing: very dark (they look black) brown trousers, black strappy shoes and a top which is: orange vest with black lace top over. The black lace bit has red bits on it. God that sounds vile, promise it's not it's actually very flattering hides the chunk

I've plumped for a very dark red nail varnish on my toes but should my fingers match? I have a nice copper colour I could use.

My skin is ghostly pale, I have blonde hair.

The necklace that came with the top (per una) is red & orange stones.

Is that enough info?!!

I don't usually like matching toes and fingers but in your case I think the dark red will be fine.

Thank you Smile

Whore's toes, Nun's fingers is the rule to stick to!

I don't like bronze nail varnish so I'd use the red again in this instance. Normally I have red/coral/Rouge Noir toes and ballet pink or pale ivory fingers.

I have some very pale ones but I can't get to my supplies atm DH is sleeping

I also do bright strong colours on toes but not on fingers - more forgiving as no one inspects it too closely and less likely to noticeably chip. Pale colours or buffing on fingers.

But there speaks the mother of young children Grin.

It's only for tonight, the nails will be cleaned off in the morning Wink

No no! Keep the bright red toes until they chip!

floralsanddresses · 28/01/2012 15:18

I'm wearing matching nails right now (deep plum). Usually it's light or neutrals on fingernails and wines, plums, reds and blacks on the toenails.

I think the red would look great on both.

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 28/01/2012 15:25

No to matching.

MummyNic · 28/01/2012 15:26

Oh yeah, leaving it on toes Smile
Just taking off fingers tomorrow due to chipping / potential staining Smile

Thank you ladies, will match up for tonight. Grin

the chic rule is bright/strong on one and nude on the other - its like legs and cleavage - classy girls don't do both!!

scarlet76 · 29/01/2012 01:09

I am wearing chanel rouge noir on toes and a nails inc nude colour on fingers.
