i'm stuffed, as I'd struggle to pull off either of these trends...

florals

yellow

and lets not forget pastels.. bluergh.

I hate spring/summer wear.

Jessicaalbastwin · 25/01/2012 14:32

Yikes, I love the colour Yellow, but hate anything floral, looks like I wont be keeping up with the trend this Spring/Summer then.

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/01/2012 14:33

Oh I love all the pretty colours - can't wait to wear my lavender jeans and pretty tops and sandals.

yellowraincoat · 25/01/2012 14:35

I'm so bored of floral, it's been around for ages.

Yellow, YAY. I love everything yellow and it's so hard to find in the shops. I suit it really well (pale verging on invisible skin, dyed red hair).

Cos had a lovely yellow skirt I saw in the Time Style magazine.

ENormaSnob · 25/01/2012 15:04

I am going to look shit all summer.

Bloody pastels.

madammecholet · 25/01/2012 15:45

LOL at ENormaSnob

MrsCB lets see the lavender jeans please... I could be swayed.

You do know you don't HAVE to follow fashion, you know, ENormaSnob? It's possible!

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/01/2012 16:23

these MmeCholet.

SaltireOShanter · 25/01/2012 16:24

madamecholet there is some nice underwear in that link, nobody would see it under your clothes, so wouldn't be able to tell if you could "pull it off" or not Wink

SaltireOShanter · 25/01/2012 16:25

Although I do think the yellow stuff is gross. There will be women walking around looking like Big Bird or tweetie Pie depening on their height Grin

FunnysInTheGarden · 25/01/2012 16:28

there must be another trend around too? Pastels look shite on me, except poss baby blue, but only if worn with a dark colour.

madammecholet · 25/01/2012 16:46

Nice MrsCB, ver nice....

Good thought about the undies SaltireOShanter... I also have 1 floral shirt that I can trot out if needs be, but tbh, I'm just not that floral...

I think yellow accessories is the way ahead for me.....

funnysinthegarden the 1920's vintage look is everywhere, plus snake print or animal... Cropped jeans are also apparently the new jean, or mega flare.. Peter Pan collars (bleugh)...

I think you take from the catwalks what you want to and leave everything else that's going to just make you look plain stupid. :)

Grazia had a nice yellow sleeveless scalloped top from Littlewoods of all places - not on the site yet. It pees me off when mags show things that aren't available yet - by the time they come in I've forgotten about them. They also had this coat on one of their style spotted people, I fell in lust with it and so of course it's both half price (yay) and out of stock (boo).

Anyway I disagree, yellow is ace. You need a tan or dark skin though IMO.

sweetheart · 25/01/2012 16:56

What about this?

It's yellow and floral!

I saw it in store last year and tried it on - liked it but didn't have a reason to buy it. It's been in the back of my mind every since. may have to trawl Ebay for it now!

MissBeehivingUnderTheMistletoe · 25/01/2012 17:29

Mmm...

Some pastels are OK
Lace is still in
Snake print is lovely
And I do love a peplum

BUT florals and yellow are not me.

ENormaSnob · 25/01/2012 18:06

Yes I do yellowraincoat.

I am 30 and clinging to my fashionable youth.

Plus you can't talk with your trendy name n all Wink

Mrsrobertduvall · 25/01/2012 18:11

There's a lot of orange around too....nice and bright.
Plus the usual nautical navy and white.
I tried on a lovely tomato coloured chunky cardi in Jack Wills today but it was £125 Sad

herecomesthsun · 25/01/2012 18:13

I have always rather liked rose patterns but I think after a certain age one has to be careful with florals. I also can't wear yellow near my face. Navy blue however is a favourite of mine and it looks good with yellow. I could always get some yellow pumps and wear with my navy stuff (as a sort of token nod to spring.)

niminypiminy · 25/01/2012 18:49

yellow! I love it! I have just bought some yellow items marked down immensely from Cos. Two yellow dresses in fact.

Fregley · 25/01/2012 18:51

the karl stuff is a bit gloomy

jamjamjam · 25/01/2012 19:18

The Karl stuff is horrible.
sweet that dress is lovely from ebay.

noddyholder · 25/01/2012 19:20

You can do it wearing skinnies and white things with pastel earrings/ballet pumps bag etc. I look hideous in pastels apart from pink

MuslinSuit · 25/01/2012 19:23

The Karl stuff is incredibly overhyped. I quite like the Davina dress but it's a bit 'best thing in a crap shop'.

I can't do florals at all, I look mumsy. Plus I'm the wrong shape for tea dresses.

alwayswashingup · 25/01/2012 19:34

Florals can look nice, worn with the right accessories. I am not liking the Karl stuff at all.

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/01/2012 19:56

I agree the Karl stuff looks awful and is styled so badly.

Do agree as well about being careful with florals - I am small and seem to end up looking mumsy if I'm not very careful so no floral dresses for me but perhaps a scarf.
