Cowgirl outfit ideas ?

I am going to a friend's birthday party in a few weeks and she is having a Barn Dance. The invite says to "Dress Appropriately", which I am assuming is some kind of cowboy/cowgirl type outfit.

I have googled to get some ideas but frankly, I seem to be getting lots of "french maid style" cowgirl outfits (which I have neither the figure nor the inclination to wear )

Does anyone have any suggestions please ?

I went to one recently and wore jeans with plaid shirt tied in knot at waist. Wore a tan cowboy hat with hair in pigtails & pink cowboy boots.
Other women there had the saloon look and I was v comfy and covered!!

You can get cow boy hats on ebay/fancy dress websites quite cheaply. or ask around amongst friends- lots of people will have bought them for a one off fancy dress party and have them lying around.

Are you sure it means "fancy dress" rather than dressing in clothes that are cool to dance in with comfy shoes? A barn dance to me suggests ceilidh (sp?) / square dancing to a band rather than disco. She might just be warning you nit to wear your clubbing gear
