Wide fit footwear at high street prices - help

Itsallgonetitsup · 21/01/2012 23:40

I have very wide feet and am very limited in what I can wear on my feet.

I rely on buying my footwear in Evans and New Look. Matalan used to do wide fit but seem to have stopped.

Next only seem to do it through their directory.

Can anyone suggest other shops (not online/mail order as I am sick of sending shoes that dont fit me back) that provide footwear for people with fat feet but not yet ready to join the frumpy club?

bananamonkey · 22/01/2012 21:45

I've got a couple of nice pairs for work from M&S (patent flats and court shoes), they come in half sizes too, wish all shops did this.

ameliameerkat · 22/01/2012 21:50

Primark have some wide shoes. New Look too.

GoingForGoalWeight · 22/01/2012 22:19

Primark shoes never fit me. too small (I'm size 8).

CointreauVersial · 22/01/2012 23:04

M&S (if you can avoid the granny sandals). Find the biggest branch you can.

MrsJasonBourne · 22/01/2012 23:31

Simply Be do a few nice pairs.

Anniepops · 23/01/2012 00:15

Hi - Primark wide fit range actually go up to a size 9. I'm guessing the larger stores carry a wider range than smaller stores though so it will prob depend on your nearest store. The Liverpool store has a fairy varied selection. Like others have said, best stores are probably Evans, New Look, Next (which have wide and extra wide) these are available instores but I'm guessing this is not the case in all stores, maybe only in the larger branches.

GoingForGoalWeight · 23/01/2012 00:31

Anniepops - Ooh thanks for that information about Primark :) I shall visit a larger store and see. Excited Grin

I have wide feet and used to have to buy over the net. But New Look have a lovely range of wide fitting shoes and boots. I've been over most of the High Street shops and New Look are the best in my opinion - and cheap as well!

Itsallgonetitsup · 23/01/2012 20:20

Wow - thanks for the response. I never knew Primark did wide fit shoes. OMG - I think I may have to get the train into town tomorrow now.
M&S - Also not on my radar as I just assumed frumpy but we have a big M&S just down the road so I will take a look.

Dorothy Perkins really?? I hope so. I will be taking a better look.

Thank you so so muchSmile

M&S do all sorts of shoes, regular and wide fit, from granny-frumpy to strappy Limited Collection platforms. The smaller the store, the frumpier the stock, though!

I have just bought a pair of ballet pumps from there, which I always struggle with, on account of my bunions (lovely). They are sooo comfy, really pretty, and less than £20, which can't be bad.

noexcuses · 24/01/2012 13:25

Pavers. Can also be found in outlets like McArther Glen.

toboldlygo · 24/01/2012 13:34

I have just ordered a pair of wide-fit nude courts from Next, will report back once they've arrived.

M&S instore range was awful even though it was quite a big store, ditto New Look. The few New Look ones they had were mostly wide enough but everything was really 'shallow' fitting, if you get me, lots of unsightly toe cleavage.

SuperDuperJezebel · 24/01/2012 14:21

Next in the Westfield at Shepherds bush def stock wide fit shoes, bought a pair there recently!

Huffpot · 25/01/2012 16:45

I shall check out Primark and Next at Shepherds Bush

Next wide courts arrived. Lovely but toweringly high and extremely small - I'm usually a 6 in heels, could barely wedge my feet in á la ugly sister in glass slipper. They would be plenty wide enough in the next size up, I'm sure, but they were far too high for what I need so they've gone back.

Much more success with New Look online, these are a lovely fit.

Huffpot · 28/01/2012 10:05

Oh those are lovely toboldlygo
I'm just looking at flats for now
