Best way to wear shoe boots - advice please!

So I'm currently trying to make the effort to look a bit less mumsy and boring and I'm really liking these shoe boot things from Selfridges:

I'm a bit rubbish with style though (I do try!) so first of all, do you like the look of them? And secondly, what is the best thing to wear them with? I wear skinny jeans quite a lot and was going to get some bootcut jeans soon too. Will these go okay with them? Do you kind of tuck your skinny jeans in them or do they just sit over them? Do I wear those little tight sock things with them?!

Not to my taste really but I think skinnies would be the way to go. I think they would only work with bootcuts if they were quite long iyswim?

I would also suggest maybe buying a cheaper version to make sure that you get on with them before committing to the more expensive purchase?

Straight jeans or slim cut trousers with those boors (which are yum btw).

They are lush. I have shoe envy.
I would have thought they'd look great with skinny jeans and boot cut.
I think boot cut is far more flattering than skinny jeans. Especially if you are not super slim.

I usually wear my shoe boots with my skinnies and they just kind of meet the top of the boots or with straight cut jeans with a turn-up at the bottom.

They are beautiful.

I would also try and style them with tea dress and thick tights.. Although they might look a bit mad with black tights so grey might be better?

Thanks for the great advice! Sorry to post and run yesterday. I think I'll get them and try them with the skinnies then. I don't think bootcut are that bad if they are really long like Henry said and I do agree they can be more flattering as a very short size 12 lady sometimes (working on shedding the rest of my baby weight now though!).

I'm trying to make 2012 my year to start making more effort in my day to day appearance thanks again!
