Black Cocktail Dress (from the high street) - can you help please?

As above - have a night out to go to and the dress code is black cocktail dress for the ladies. I am 5'8'' and size 12, a rubbish shopper and have no clue.

There were loads of black dresses in the shops before christmas and now I can find none. Can you help please, oh wise ones??

Thanks very much for the recommendations! They are all nice, I will have a think! Capped sleeves at least would be nice and above the knee, but not too short!
