Corset or Spanx - which is the better investment?

I am a size 14 with a very attractive apple shaped midriff. I need to obtain a waist to go with a very unforgiving LBD so which do I spend £70 on - a corset or a Spanx bodysuit?

Shamelessly bumping because I need to order in next few days in time for me wearing the dress soon. Help!

corsets are definitely better at giving curves, spanx can only do so much.

On the downside, corsets are expensive, can get uncomfortable, and may give away tell tale lumps under your dress. I have both and I wear the corset with some dresses and the spanx with others.

My best 'fashion investment' so far in terms of getting a good shape has been the Shred DVD. That plus spanx or corset gives amazing results.

Spanx are very good - because they go up to right under your bra they flatten everything. The only downside I find is the cycling short style leg is rather long for some outfits - are you supposed to roll them up? always wondered this. Apart from that I find they take inches off and have been a v good investment.

Corset. I find the top of Spanx rolls down and the legs ride up - irritating and unsightly.
